Our Daily Bread
Date: 10/3/25
(This dream has been adjusted for clarity and impact.)
“So King Zedekiah ordered that Jeremiah be confined in the courtyard of the guard and given a loaf of bread from the street of the bakers each day until all the bread in the city was gone. So Jeremiah remained in the courtyard of the guard.”
— Jeremiah 37:21 (Contemporary Translation)
In my dream, I saw a woman standing before me, her face filled with worry. She spoke softly:
“Please pray for me.”
My heart was moved, and I asked her:
“Do you like bread?”
She looked slightly surprised but nodded and said, “Yes.”
At that moment, I understood the burden in her heart. She was afraid of lack—not just a lack of food but a lack of provision in all aspects of life. I thought of Jeremiah 37:21—even though Jeremiah was in prison, God moved the king’s heart to provide him with a loaf of bread daily until there was no more bread in the city. Even in the most difficult circumstances, God ensured that His servant had what he needed each day.
Looking at her, I gently said:
“Do you know that Jesus taught us how to pray for bread?”
She looked at me curiously, so I continued:
“In Matthew 6:11, Jesus said, ‘Give us today our daily bread.’
He wasn’t teaching us to worry about the future but rather to trust our Heavenly Father for daily provision. God does not give us everything all at once, but instead, He provides just enough for each day—just as He gave manna to the Israelites in the wilderness (Exodus 16:4), and just as He provided for Jeremiah in prison.”
She listened quietly, deep in thought. I went on:
“Sometimes, we fear not having enough. We fear the uncertainties of tomorrow. But Jesus reminds us, ‘So do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself.’ (Matthew 6:34) God already knows everything you need, and He will provide at the right time.”
Her expression softened, and a hint of hope appeared in her eyes. She asked:
“So, I just need to pray the Lord’s Prayer daily and trust that God will provide for me?”
I smiled and nodded:
“Yes. Even before you ask, God already knows what you need (Matthew 6:8). Just as He provided Jeremiah’s daily bread, He will also provide for you.”
A peaceful look came over her face, as if a heavy burden had been lifted.

Conclusion: Trusting in God’s Provision
When I woke up, I realized this dream carried a message not just for her, but for all of us:
✅ We do not need to worry because our Heavenly Father already knows what we need and provides for us daily.
✅ He is our true provider. Each day, we can pray and ask for our daily bread while learning to trust Him completely.
May we pray daily with faith, knowing that God’s provision never runs dry.
