Title: New Era Fishing Boats and Nets — The Story of Jae-En

Date: March 27, 2025

Story:

As night fell, Jae-En sat in the corner of a coffee shop, his fingers swiftly tapping on his phone screen. His heart raced because time was running out.

Just now, he had received a message:

“I was planning to end my life tonight, but after watching your video, I want to give it another try. Can I still get to know this Jesus?”

Jae-En’s heart skipped a beat. He remembered Jesus’ words in the Gospel of Mark: “Let us go to the neighboring towns, so that I may preach there also. For that is why I came.” (Mark 1:38). Jesus was never confined by tradition; He boldly broke boundaries and went to where people were to share the Gospel.

A few months ago, Jae-En relied solely on traditional methods—revivals, small group Bible studies, and face-to-face testimonies to spread the Gospel. However, today’s world was no longer the same. Through social media, Jae-En realized he could reach people’s hearts who were otherwise inaccessible. So, he began recording short videos to share the love of Jesus and His Gospel. Unexpectedly, within just a few months, the impact of the Gospel exceeded his expectations.

Moreover, Jae-En began utilizing AI tools such as automated content creation and AI-driven social media analytics to optimize his outreach. Not only did AI help craft more engaging video titles and content, but it also analyzed audience feedback, allowing him to adjust content strategies in real-time and deliver the Gospel message more precisely to those in need. Through these tools, his message of hope reached more corners of the world than ever before.

He received a message from Africa: “I live in a place with no church, but your testimony helped me find Jesus. Now, my friends and I meet every week to study the Bible.” Jae-En was moved. Although he had never stepped foot in Africa, the Gospel had already reached there through social media.

Reflection:

Jesus’ method of spreading the Gospel was flexible and proactive. He was never confined to tradition or stuck in old ways. He courageously broke boundaries and used the most effective tools of His time to share God’s love. Today, social media, short videos, live streaming, and AI tools have become our new “fishing boats” and “nets” for spreading the Gospel. These tools allow us to enter people’s lives more directly and help us reach those in need more accurately.

Reflecting on Jesus calling Peter, He said: “Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men.” (Mark 1:17). At that time, fishing boats and nets were the most effective tools for catching fish. Today, modern technology and AI have become our new “fishing boats” and “nets,” allowing us to reach even more lost souls.

In Mark 4:21-22, Jesus also said, “Do you bring in a lamp to put it under a bowl or a bed? Instead, don’t you put it on its stand? For whatever is hidden is meant to be disclosed, and whatever is concealed is meant to be brought out into the open.” Today, social platforms and AI technologies act like that lamp, enabling the light of the Gospel to shine into every corner of the world, no longer limited to traditional pulpits and geography.

The core message of the Gospel never changes, but the way we deliver it can evolve. AI and modern tools have opened unprecedented pathways for spreading the Gospel. The question is: Are you willing to embrace the tools of this new era, using AI and social media to share the Gospel with more people?
