第一阶段：忘求——“靠自己就够了”

王球从小在基督徒家庭长大，但祷告对他来说只是仪式。他相信决定命运的不是神，而是自己的努力。

他聪明勤奋，事业顺遂，赚到了人生的第一桶金。他不觉得自己需要神，每当家人提醒他祷告，他总是笑着说：

“我靠自己就行。”

然而，现实并不总是如人所愿。一场突如其来的投资失败，让他的公司陷入危机，债务压顶。他四处求助，却无人能真正帮他。

夜深人静，他想起母亲的话：

“孩子，神一直在等你。”

绝望中，他尝试第一次认真祷告：

“神啊……如果你真的存在，求你帮帮我……”

他期待奇迹发生，但等待他的，却是沉默。

他叹了口气，觉得果然没用。但因为别无选择，他决定继续祷告。

第二阶段：妄求——“神会满足我的愿望”

几天后，一个多年未联系的朋友主动借他一笔资金，让他暂时渡过难关。他惊喜地发现：

“原来祷告真的有效！”

从那天起，他开始频繁祷告。但他的祷告，渐渐变成了“交易”——

“神啊，求你让我翻盘，赚更多的钱！”
“神啊，求你让我投资成功，一夜暴富！”
“神啊，我答应你，以后一定捐钱！”

他把神当成了愿望实现的工具，把信仰当作成功的捷径。

他的事业的确逐渐恢复，甚至比以前更顺利。但随着财富增长，他的野心也在膨胀。他开始做更大胆的投资，每次都先祷告，却从未问过：

“神啊，这是你的心意吗？”

终于，有一天，他的投资再次失败。这一次，比上次更惨烈，他一夜之间失去所有。

他愤怒地跪在地上，质问神：

“为什么？我一直在祷告，为什么你不帮我？”

然而，在痛苦中，他终于明白——

过去，他不是在敬拜神，而是在利用神。
过去，他不是在寻求神的旨意，而是在命令神成就他的计划。

他终于意识到，自己从未真正明白祷告的意义。

第三阶段：完求——“寻求神的完全旨意”

这一次，他的骄傲被彻底粉碎。他不再向神“索取”，而是真心向神“交托”。

他跪下祷告：

“神啊，不是要你按我的意思成就，而是让我按你的心意行事。”

他不再求财富，而是求智慧，知道该如何行。
他不再求捷径，而是求耐心，愿意按神的时间前行。
他不再求掌控一切，而是求信心，相信神的带领。

他想起使徒保罗的话：

“常常在祷告中恳切祈求，也许我可以照着他的旨意，终于能够顺利地到你们那里去。”（罗马书 1:10 新译本）

过去，他的祷告是为了自己的计划，如今，他学会了在祷告中恳切寻求神的旨意，而不是强求自己的愿望。

他的事业没有奇迹般翻盘，而是一步步稳健成长。但比起外在的改变，他的生命经历了更深的转变——

他变得谦卑，学会感恩，懂得知足。

他不再只是求神的祝福，而是愿意成为神祝福别人的器皿。

有人问他：“你为什么现在凡事祷告？”

他微笑着回答：

“以前，我忘求，觉得靠自己就够了；后来，我妄求，以为神是满足我愿望的工具；现在，我完求，凡事寻求神的旨意，因为祂完全的旨意比我的更美好。”

The Story of Wang Qiu’s Prayer Journey

Phase 1: Neglected Prayer—“I Can Rely on Myself”

Wang Qiu grew up in a Christian family, but to him, prayer was merely a ritual. He believed that what truly determined his destiny was not God but his own efforts.

Smart and hardworking, he excelled in school and business, earning his first fortune. He never felt the need for God. Whenever his family reminded him to pray, he would always laugh and say:

“I can handle it on my own.”

But life does not always go as planned. A sudden investment failure threw his company into crisis. His financial chain broke, and debt weighed heavily upon him. He sought help everywhere, but no one could truly rescue him.

In the quiet of the night, he recalled his mother’s words:

“My child, God has always been waiting for you.”

In desperation, he tried praying sincerely for the first time:

“God… if You really exist, please help me…”

He expected a miracle, but all he received was silence.

With a sigh, he thought, “I knew it wouldn’t work.” But with no other option, he decided to continue praying.

Phase 2: Selfish Prayer—“God Will Grant My Wishes”

A few days later, an old friend unexpectedly lent him money, allowing him to survive the crisis. He was amazed:

“So, prayer really works!”

From that day on, he began to pray frequently. However, his prayers gradually turned into transactions:

“God, help me recover and make more money!”
“God, bless my investments so I can get rich overnight!”
“God, I promise to donate money if You grant my wishes!”

He treated God as a tool for fulfilling his desires, and he saw faith as a shortcut to success.

His business did indeed recover and even flourished beyond his expectations. But as his wealth grew, so did his ambitions. He began making bolder investments, always praying beforehand but never asking:

“God, is this Your will?”

Eventually, his investments failed again—this time, the losses were catastrophic. Overnight, he lost everything.

Angrily, he knelt on the ground and questioned God:

“Why? I prayed so much! Why didn’t You help me?”

Yet in his pain, he finally understood—

In the past, he had not truly worshiped God; he had only tried to use Him.
In the past, he had not sought God’s will; he had only demanded God fulfill his own plans.

He realized that he had never truly understood the meaning of prayer.

Phase 3: Perfect Prayer—“Seeking God’s Perfect Will”

This time, his pride was completely shattered. He no longer prayed to get something from God but to surrender himself to God.

He knelt down and prayed:

“God, not my will, but let me follow Yours.”

He no longer asked for wealth but for wisdom—to know what to do.
He no longer sought shortcuts but patience—to walk in God’s timing.
He no longer tried to control everything but asked for faith—to trust in God’s guidance.

He remembered Paul’s words:

“In my prayers at all times; and I pray that now at last by God’s will the way may be opened for me to come to you.” (Romans 1:10, NIV)

In the past, he had prayed for his own plans. Now, he had learned to pray earnestly to seek God’s will rather than forcing his own desires.

His business did not miraculously rebound, but it grew steadily. More importantly, his life underwent a deeper transformation—

He became humble, learned gratitude, and found contentment.

He no longer prayed only for God’s blessings but desired to be a vessel of God’s blessings for others.

Someone once asked him, “Why do you pray about everything now?”

He smiled and replied:

“Before, I neglected to pray because I thought I could rely on myself. Later, I prayed selfishly, thinking God existed to fulfill my wishes. Now, I pray perfectly, seeking God’s perfect will—because His will is far better than mine.”
