We Are Already in the Last Days — Living as Witnesses

Scripture: Revelation 12:11
“They triumphed over him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony; they did not love their lives so much as to shrink from death.”

  1. We Are Already Living in the Last Days

The Book of Revelation opens with this declaration: “The time is near.” (Revelation 1:3)
This isn’t merely a future prediction—it’s a present reality. Today, we witness wars, plagues, disasters, moral decay, and increasing hostility against the faith—all signs that we are indeed living in the “last days” foretold in Scripture.

But this is not a time to fear. It is a time to bear witness.
God is raising up a people who will shine in the darkness and speak truth in chaos—faithful witnesses for Jesus Christ.

  1. Revelation’s Threefold Call to Witness

First, we are called to bear witness to a faithful Savior.
Revelation 1:5 refers to Jesus as “the faithful witness,” who came for the truth, suffered for it, and rose in victory. All our testimony flows from Him. We don’t represent a religion—we represent the living King.

Second, we are to bear witness through tribulation.
Revelation 7 describes a multitude who came “out of the great tribulation.” They didn’t escape the storm—they endured it. They washed their robes in the blood of the Lamb and were made pure.
Their victory wasn’t in comfort, but in persevering faith.

Third, we bear witness to the coming Kingdom.
Revelation 22:20 says, “Amen. Come, Lord Jesus.”
In a world drowning in despair, we proclaim a different message—Jesus is coming. His Kingdom is near. We have hope.

  1. The Key to Overcoming in the Last Days: Testimony

Revelation 12:11 gives us the divine formula for victory over Satan:

First, the blood of the Lamb. This is the foundation of our salvation, authority, and identity. It is the unshakable ground on which the enemy cannot accuse us.

Second, the word of our testimony. Not just what we say, but how we live. Our testimony is the lived-out truth of the Gospel—what we’ve seen, heard, and experienced in Christ, and are unashamed to declare.

Third, not loving our lives even unto death. This is the ultimate devotion. Today’s witnesses are not those in the spotlight, but those who stand firm in the shadows—those who refuse to compromise, even at great cost.

  1. You Are the Witness in the Book of Revelation

The “overcomers” in the seven churches, the faithful servants mentioned in chapters 2–3, the two witnesses in chapter 11, and the followers of the Lamb in chapter 14—all point to one thing:

In the last days, God is looking for a people who won’t drift with the world, who won’t compromise the truth, and who won’t remain silent. He is calling those who will rise, live, and speak as His witnesses.

You don’t need to be perfect—just willing.
Your struggles, your prayers, your endurance at home, at work, in secret—these are all ways you are testifying to Christ today.

  1. Closing & Prayer of Response

Yes, we are already in the last days. God is not calling us to retreat, but to stand—not by our own strength, but by the blood of the Lamb and the word of our testimony.

May you be the one who lights a fire even in the darkest night.
May you be the witness God has raised for this generation.

Prayer:

Lord, I acknowledge that I am already living in the last days. Awaken me, strengthen me, and make me faithful. Let me be your witness—unafraid of darkness, unmoved by trials, and wholly committed to revealing your truth and glory.
Come, Lord Jesus!
