俄珥巴含泪吻别,回到了熟悉的世界;
A Vow Without Turning Back: Following Through Tears
Date:April 29, 2025
Scripture:Ruth 1:16
But Ruth replied, “Do not urge me to leave you or to turn back from you. Where you go, I will go, and where you stay, I will stay. Your people will be my people and your God my God.”
Background:
In the years torn apart by drought and famine, Naomi lost her husband and her two sons, leaving her heart in desolation.
She decided to return alone to Bethlehem, accompanied on the road by her two Moabite daughters-in-law.
Amid her brokenness, Naomi urged them to turn back and begin new lives.
Orpah, with tears in her eyes, kissed Naomi goodbye and returned to the world she knew;
but Ruth, standing in the dust and sorrow, answered with her life.
She did not turn back.
Before the long and unknown road ahead, Ruth clung tightly to Naomi,
and between tears and dust, she made a woman’s deepest vow:
wherever the path might lead, whatever trials may come,
she would walk it with Naomi, sharing in joy and sorrow until the very end.
More profoundly, Ruth did not only follow Naomi—
she turned her heart to Naomi’s God,
entrusting her future, along with her broken past, into the hands of the Eternal One.
Conclusion:
Love shines most truly in the darkest times.
Faith becomes most precious on the loneliest roads.
Ruth had no answers, no guarantees.
She made only one choice:
To walk forward in love, and not to turn back in faith.
Today, as you stand at the crossroads of life,
are you willing, too, to make such a choice—even through tears?
