—
Love
—
Joy
—
Peace
—
Patience
—
Kindness
—
Goodness
—
Faithfulness
—
Gentleness
—
Self-Control
❤️ Love Is the Root, the Fruit Is the Witness
🗓️ Date: June 8, 2025
📖 Scripture:
Galatians 5:22–23
“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. Against such things there is no law.”
1 Corinthians 13:4–8
“Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails.”

🕊️ Love Is the Root; the Ninefold Fruit Is Its Expression
Dear brothers and sisters,
Galatians tells us about the fruit of the Spirit.
1 Corinthians reveals what love truly looks like.
Together, they show us one important truth:
The fruit of the Spirit is the outward unfolding of love.
Love is not just one of the fruits.
Love is the root.
And the nine fruits are the outflow—how love lives through us in daily life.
Let us take time to reflect on each fruit, one by one, and see how love is behind them all.
—
1️⃣ Love
Love is the foundation of all fruit.
Without love, spiritual acts are empty.
Paul said: “If I do not have love, I am nothing.” (1 Cor. 13:2)
This is agapē—God’s unconditional love. A love that gives, expects nothing, and lays itself down.
—
2️⃣ Joy
“Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth.” (1 Cor. 13:6)
Joy doesn’t come from good situations, but from walking in truth and being free in God’s love.
True joy is found in loving God and being loved by Him.
—
3️⃣ Peace
“Love is not self-seeking, not easily angered.” (1 Cor. 13:5)
Love doesn’t stir up conflict. It heals brokenness.
Where love rules, peace follows—between God and us, and between people.
Love creates an atmosphere of reconciliation.
—
4️⃣ Patience
“Love is patient.” (1 Cor. 13:4)
Patience is not simply waiting—it is choosing not to give up on others.
It is loving someone enough to walk beside them, even when they are slow, struggling, or stuck.
—
5️⃣ Kindness
“Love is kind.” (1 Cor. 13:4)
Kindness is love in action—gently meeting the needs of others.
It’s the heart that says, “I’ll help first,” even when it’s not asked for.
—
6️⃣ Goodness
“Love does not delight in evil, but rejoices with the truth.” (1 Cor. 13:6)
Goodness is love that refuses to compromise with sin.
It doesn’t stay silent in the face of wrong but stands firmly for what is right—
in gentleness, not harshness.
—
7️⃣ Faithfulness
“Love always trusts, always hopes.” (1 Cor. 13:7)
Faithfulness is a loyal heart that keeps its word.
Love stays. Love believes. Love doesn’t give up.
Even when others fail, love remains committed.
—
8️⃣ Gentleness
“Love does not boast, it is not proud.” (1 Cor. 13:4)
Gentleness is not weakness—it is love choosing humility.
Even when we have power or authority, gentleness treats others with tenderness and respect.
—
9️⃣ Self-Control
“Love is not self-seeking, not easily angered.” (1 Cor. 13:5)
Self-control is the choice to surrender our impulses—for the sake of love.
It is choosing to deny self, not because we are strong, but because we love.
—
✨ Final Reflection: Love Is the Tree, the Fruit Is Its Life
Friends,
The fruit of the Spirit is not a list of things we try to perform.
It is the natural overflow of a life rooted in God’s love.
Love is the tree.
The nine fruits are its branches, fragrance, and witness.
Spiritual maturity is not measured by how impressive we are—
but by how deeply we love.
May we grow in love, bear much fruit,
and reveal Jesus to the world through the way we live.
