• 有信心,就继续去行动;
• 有爱心,就继续去服事;

求祢坚固我们的手,使我们不停止服事;
坚固我们的脚,使我们不停止奔跑;

Spiritual Stamina: Lessons from 1 Thessalonians

📅 Date: June 11, 2025

🪧 Introduction

Dear brothers and sisters, we are living in a time that truly tests our spiritual stamina.
Life’s pressures, challenges to our faith, and fatigue in ministry are all draining our “spiritual battery.” But today, God speaks to us:
• “Keep going.”
• “Stand firm in the Lord’s strength.”
• “Your labor in the Lord is not in vain.”

Today, we reflect on spiritual stamina—the strength to endure in faith.
From 1 Thessalonians, we will learn how to remain steadfast in faith, love, and hope until the day of Christ’s return.

📖 I. Three Pillars of Spiritual Stamina (1 Thessalonians 1:3)

“Your work produced by faith, your labor prompted by love, and your endurance inspired by hope in our Lord Jesus Christ.”

1️⃣ Faith That Leads to Action
• Faith is not just a concept—it moves us to act.
• The Thessalonian believers faced persecution right after believing, but they did not back down.

2️⃣ Love That Leads to Sacrifice
• Love drove them to serve one another and endure hardship.
• True love is not just emotion—it’s willingness to sweat, to weep, even to bleed.

3️⃣ Hope That Sustains Endurance
• They could persevere because they believed in the Lord’s return.
• Waiting with purpose becomes strength-filled endurance.

🛡️ II. Stamina Requires Courage and Spiritual Companions

(1 Thessalonians 2:2; 3:5)

“With the help of our God we dared to tell you his gospel in the face of strong opposition.”
“I sent to find out about your faith…”• Paul was not fighting alone—he stood with the church in mutual support. • Spiritual stamina isn’t a solo battle; it’s a spiritual alliance, marked by prayer, encouragement, and accountability. • Paul feared the tempter might have shaken their faith—because the enemy often targets our endurance.

🌱 III. Stamina Requires Holiness and Daily Spiritual Disciplines

(1 Thessalonians 4:1–8; 5:16–18)

(1) Holiness Keeps Sin from Draining Us

“God did not call us to be impure, but to live a holy life.”• Spiritual decline often begins with moral compromise. • Avoiding sexual immorality and living in self-control are foundations for stamina.

(2) Spiritual Disciplines Renew Our Strength

“Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances.”• Joy is a choice, not just a reaction. • Prayer is the breath of the soul. • Gratitude is spiritual immunity. • These practices refill our strength daily.

⛰️ IV. Stamina Runs on the Hope of Christ’s Return

(1 Thessalonians 4:16–18; 5:8)

“The Lord himself will come down from heaven… and so we will be with the Lord forever.”• Paul ends this letter not with fear but with hope. • Spiritual stamina is not fueled by willpower, but by an eternal perspective and the glory to come. • We do not give up because we know: • “This is not the end.” • “The Lord is coming again!”

🪔 Conclusion & Call

Dear brothers and sisters, are you weary today?
Have you considered giving up on your ministry, your faith, or your hope?

God speaks to us through 1 Thessalonians:
• If you have faith, keep acting.
• If you have love, keep serving.
• If you have hope, keep enduring.

The day of the Lord’s return is near—may we put on the armor of light, press on, and become spiritual marathoners who finish the race.

🙏 Closing Prayer

Lord,
We confess that we sometimes grow tired and weak—even wanting to give up.
But today, through Your Word, You have given us new hope, love, and faith.

Please strengthen our hands so that we do not stop serving.
Strengthen our feet so that we do not stop running.
Strengthen our hearts so that we do not stop hoping.

Until the day of Your glorious return,
We choose to rely on You—to not lose heart, to not give up, but to run the heavenly race with boldness.

In the name of our Lord Jesus Christ we pray, Amen.
