• 他在狱中信主,被保罗称为“我在捆锁中所生的儿子”;

• 重生带来的,不只是与神的和好,更是人与人之间的合一;

• 保罗是代求者,预表基督;
• 阿尼西母是悔改者,代表我们;

📖 Born Again Through the Book of Philemon

🗓️ Date: June 16, 2025
📖 Key Scripture: Philemon 1:10–11

“I appeal to you for my son Onesimus, who became my son while I was in chains. Formerly he was useless to you, but now he has become useful both to you and to me.”

✨ 1. New Birth: From Useless to Useful

Onesimus, whose name means “useful,” was once a runaway slave—considered useless and untrustworthy. But in prison, he met Paul and encountered Christ. His life was transformed through the new birth.
• Paul calls him “my son…born while I was in chains”;
• His past was not erased, but redeemed.

🪧 Spiritual Insight:

True rebirth doesn’t patch up the old life—it creates a new one. What once seemed useless can be made deeply meaningful in Christ.

✨ 2. New Birth Brings Spiritual Family

📖 Philemon 1:16

“No longer as a slave, but better than a slave, as a dear brother.”

Through faith, Onesimus was no longer defined by his status, but by his new identity in Christ.
• Paul asks Philemon to receive him “as a beloved brother”—not as a slave;
• Rebirth unites hearts that the world divides;
• The Gospel dissolves human labels and creates true family in the Spirit.

🔑 Reflection:

Am I willing to see others not by their past, but by their identity in Christ?

✨ 3. New Birth Heals Relationships with Love and Forgiveness

📖 Philemon 1:18

“If he has done you any wrong or owes you anything, charge it to me.”

Paul offers to repay any of Onesimus’s debts—just as Jesus took our debt on the cross.
• Paul is the intercessor, pointing to Christ;
• Onesimus is the sinner, representing us;
• Philemon is the forgiver, reflecting the Father’s heart.

🪧 Gospel Picture:

True new birth isn’t just about our relationship with God—it heals our relationships with others through reconciliation, responsibility, and forgiveness.

🙏 Application and Response
1. Have you ever felt “useless”? In Christ, you are made useful and purposeful.
2. Are there broken relationships in your life? Let God’s grace bring healing and restoration.
3. Will you be like Paul—a bridge builder, a prayer warrior, a voice of grace?

🧎‍♀️ Closing Prayer

Dear Lord Jesus,
Thank You for not condemning me based on my past, but for giving me a new life in You.
Just as You transformed Onesimus, please transform me—
That I may no longer live as one who is “useless,”
But become a vessel useful in Your hands.
Teach me to forgive, to intercede, and to love like You do.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
