📖 Title: Who Is the Greatest? From Being First to Being a Servant

🗓 Date: August 5, 2025

📍 Scripture: Mark 9:35–37

1️⃣ The True Meaning of Greatness: From “First” to “Last”

“If anyone wants to be first, he must be the very last, and the servant of all.” (Mark 9:35)

Jesus turns worldly thinking upside down:

In God’s kingdom, true greatness is found in willingly serving others and taking the lowest place.

2️⃣ The Example of a Child: Humble, Simple, Trusting

Jesus took a child in His arms and said:

“Whoever welcomes one of these little children in my name welcomes me.”

Though children had no status, Jesus lifted them up.

What He values is not ability, but simplicity and dependence.

3️⃣ Welcoming the Lowly Is Welcoming God

When we embrace those the world overlooks, we are welcoming Jesus Himself—and the One who sent Him.

✨ Closing Reflection

Greatness in the kingdom isn’t about climbing high, but bowing low.

Those who truly belong to God are humble servants who welcome the least.

🙏 Short Prayer

Lord, teach me to let go of the pursuit of status,

to serve others with a willing heart.

Open my eyes to see Your presence in every small and humble life.

In Jesus’ name, Amen.
