🎭 The Play Is Not Reality

📅 September 21, 2025

🌙 Dream (Embellished Version)

In the dream, life seemed to be set upon a vast stage.
The lights blazed, the audience held their breath, the atmosphere solemn and intense.
At the center of the stage, a sports car slowly drove in.
Its body glittered brilliantly under the spotlight, as if it symbolized glory, success, and endless possibilities.
I secretly envied it: If only I could have it—how satisfying that would be!

Yet, as I drew closer, I was shocked—
the sports car was nothing but a toy model!
The wheels would not turn, the engine made no sound.
It was merely a magnified illusion, a stage prop of falsehood.
Glorious on the outside, hollow within.
In that moment, I felt a profound emptiness.

👉 That sports car represented the dreams we chase in life:
whether wealth, career, or status—
if they are not from God and not for God,
in the end they may prove to be nothing more than a “stage toy,”
shiny on the outside, but unable to truly satisfy the soul.

📖 Message
• Ecclesiastes reveals that life is like a play—brief and vain:
“Vanity of vanities, all is vanity.” (Eccl. 1:2)
• The sports car symbolizes the dreams people pursue:
• Wealth, status, and pleasures may look real, but are often like toys.
• We exhaust ourselves in performance, weary in our roles, forgetting that the play must one day end.
• A play is not the true reality of life.
• True meaning is found here:
“Fear God and keep His commandments, for this is the whole duty of man.” (Eccl. 12:13)
• The healing of life is not in stage props or illusory dreams,
but in returning to God and living in His eternal reality.

🤔 Reflection
1. Am I still drawn to the “sports car on stage”—the deceptive dreams?
2. Do I often mistake the goals I pursue as the true essence of life?
3. Today, am I willing to let God reshape my dreams so that they become part of His eternal plan?

🙏 Prayer

Lord,
thank You for showing me through this dream
that the dreams people pursue, if not in You,
are often nothing more than toys on a stage.
Cleanse my heart,
that I may not toil for false dreams,
but entrust my desires to You,
so that my life may find truth and fulfillment in You.
Amen.
