📌 “The Book of Isaiah — A Reflection of the Entire Bible”
📅 27 November 2025
In the Bible, the Book of Isaiah is often referred to as a “mini Bible.” This is not because each chapter matches a specific book of the Bible exactly, but because the overall structure and message of Isaiah closely mirrors the redemption journey found throughout the entire Bible.
Isaiah contains 66 chapters, corresponding to the 66 books of the Bible. The first 39 chapters focus on sin, judgment, rebellion, and the call to repentance—similar to the first 39 books of the Old Testament, which reveal humanity’s condition. From chapter 40 onward, the tone shifts dramatically to comfort, hope, salvation, and the coming of the Messiah—reflecting the grace brought through the New Testament.
Isaiah 40:3 says,
“A voice of one calling: In the wilderness prepare the way for the Lord.”
This verse is quoted in all four Gospels to describe John the Baptist preparing the way for Jesus. From this point, Isaiah turns toward the message of salvation.
What is most striking is Isaiah 66:22:
“For as the new heavens and the new earth which I will make…”
This closely echoes Revelation 21, which also reveals “a new heaven and a new earth,” pointing to the ultimate fulfillment of God’s redemptive plan.
⸻
📖 In summary:
• Chapters 1–39 — Like the Old Testament: reveal the problem of humanity
• Chapters 40–66 — Like the New Testament: declare Christ as the answer
• Chapter 66 — Points to the new heaven and new earth, echoing the 66th book of the Bible (Revelation)
Thus, the Book of Isaiah is like a “Bible within the Bible” — moving from judgment to glory, from human failure to God’s redemption.
