📌 “The Deep Sea of Grace: God’s Mercy Once Again”
📅 December 7, 2025
📖 Scripture: Micah 7:18–19
“Who is a God like You, who pardons iniquity
and forgives the transgression of the remnant of His inheritance?
He does not retain His anger forever,
because He delights in mercy.
He will again have compassion on us;
He will subdue our iniquities.
You will cast all our sins into the depths of the sea.”
- God’s uniqueness is not only in power but in His heart
Micah marvels: “Who is a God like You?”
What truly sets God apart from all idols and earthly powers is His character:
• He pardons iniquity
• He forgives transgression
• He does not stay angry for long
• He delights in showing mercy
People often hold on to anger,
but God takes the initiative to let go.
He does not forgive reluctantly—
✨ He forgives with joy.
This is the most tender heartbeat of the gospel.
- He “will again” have compassion on us
“He will again have compassion on us” —
this is one of the gentlest promises in Scripture.
God knows we will be weak,
fall short, and repeat our mistakes.
Yet His mercy is not one-time;
it is continual, renewing, and steadfast.
• God will not be disappointed because of our second failure
• God will not withdraw His love because we are weak
• God restores us again and again
✨ His mercy is always greater than our failures.
- God completely deals with our sins
Micah gives us two powerful images:
1️⃣ Trampled underfoot
God personally crushes our sins,
stripping them of their power to control, accuse, or bind us.
2️⃣ Cast into the depths of the sea
The deep sea represents:
unsearchable, irretrievable, and never returning.
In other words:
• God no longer remembers our sins
• God no longer holds our past against us
• God no longer lets sin define who we are
✨ We are forgiven children, not condemned sinners.
❤️ Conclusion: Living in the deep sea of grace
Many people are still entangled by the shame of their past,
forgetting that those failures have long been washed clean by the blood.
But today, God declares to us:
• I delight in showing mercy, not in condemning.
• I will once again extend My compassion to you.
• Your sins have been crushed beneath My feet.
• Your transgressions have sunk into the deep sea of My grace, never to be remembered again.
✨ Therefore, rise up!
Step into freedom, step into the light,
and step into the unfailing, ever-flowing deep sea of grace.
