🕎 Hanukkah|

Hanukkah(Festival of Light)

因为掩藏的事,没有不显出来的;

Hanukkah

在 Gospel of Mark 中,

Mark

Hanukkah

Hanukkah

🕎 Hanukkah | The Light That Cannot Be Hidden

Festival: Hanukkah (Festival of Light)
Festival Dates: December 14 (sunset) – December 22 (sunset), 2025
Today’s Date: December 15, 2025 (During Hanukkah)
Scripture: Mark 4:21–22

📖 Scripture (Mark 4:21–22)

“Do you bring in a lamp to put it under a bowl or a bed?
Instead, don’t you put it on its stand?
For whatever is hidden is meant to be disclosed,
and whatever is concealed is meant to be brought out into the open.”

🕯️ Reflection

Hanukkah remembers a light that refused to go out.
Oil that should have lasted only one day
continued to burn in the Temple for eight.

Not because resources were abundant,
but because of God’s presence and sustaining care.

In the Gospel of Mark,
Jesus does not offer a long explanation of what “light” is.
Instead, He gives us a very simple image — a lamp.

Not a weapon.
Not a blazing fire.
Not a light that illuminates an entire city.
Just a lamp.

Yet this lamp has a clear purpose:
not to be hidden,
but to be placed on a stand.

🔥 When Light Enters Darkness

Mark shows us that
when light enters the world,
darkness does not disappear instantly,
but it begins to be exposed, challenged, and driven back.
• Unclean spirits are cast out
• The oppressed are set free
• Hidden truths come into the open
• The kingdom of God draws near, quietly

Hanukkah tells the same story.
Light does not win by numbers,
but by faithfully continuing to burn.

✨ Today’s Reminder (During Hanukkah)

Today, God is not asking us:

“How bright is your light?”

Instead, He asks:

“Have you lit the lamp?”
“Have you placed it where it belongs?”

Once a light is lit,
its calling is simply to shine,
not to prove itself.

🙏 Prayer

Lord,
You are the light that darkness cannot overcome.

During this season of Hanukkah,
we ask You to light the lamp within us —
small in appearance, yet real and true.

Teach us not to hide the light You have given
beneath fear, compromise, or silence,
but to shine quietly and faithfully
in the place You have assigned us,
until all that You intend to reveal is fully revealed.

In Your name we pray,
Amen.

🕎 Closing Reflection

Hanukkah reminds us:
God may not remove the darkness immediately,
but He will always ensure that
the light continues to burn.
