“因为作奴仆蒙召于主的,就是主所释放的人;

我以为是我在给他们机会;
Title: Who Is the Boss

📖 Scripture: 1 Corinthians 7:22
“For he who was called in the Lord while a slave is the Lord’s freedman;
likewise he who was called while free is Christ’s slave.”

Sharing
Years ago, I ran a moving company and hired several workers who had just been released from prison. I hoped to give them a chance to start again. One of them was very experienced, so I appointed him as the team leader, thinking it would improve efficiency.
But as time went on, he began to overstep his role and ignore my instructions, even acting as if he were the real boss. As the owner, I felt like I was losing control. I struggled, felt frustrated, and carried a sense of hurt.
One day while driving to a job site, I poured out my confusion to the Lord, saying,
“Lord, am I still the boss? Why does it feel like things are no longer in my hands?”
At that moment, the Holy Spirit prompted me to look to my left at a roadside tire advertisement. It had a simple line printed on it—
“I am the boss of this road.”
In that moment, peace settled in my heart—not because the situation was solved, but because God shifted my focus:
It was not me, and not that team leader—the One truly in control is the Lord.

Scripture Reflection
1 Corinthians 7 teaches believers about calling regardless of social status:
• whether a slave or free
• outward identity is temporary
• true ownership and rule belong to God
This verse reveals a deep truth and love:
• the slave who is called becomes the Lord’s freedman
• the free person who is called becomes Christ’s servant
In other words:
• prisons cannot imprison a soul God calls
• society may reject, but God restores dignity
• a person once bound can find true freedom in Christ
Looking back, I realized:
I thought I was giving former inmates an opportunity,
but God reminded me:
It is not my approval that gives them worth—
it is His love that restores and defines them.
⸻
In my struggle for control, God was not taking authority away from me.
He was inviting me to return authority to Him,
to rest in His sovereignty and love.
⸻
Conclusion
The true Boss is not the one holding earthly authority,
but the One who sets captives free and directs every path—
Jesus Christ.
