📖 Accepted Co-Workers: Restored to Trust in Christ

📅 Date: December 25, 2025

📜 Scripture:Colossians 4:10

“Aristarchus, my fellow prisoner, greets you, as does Mark, the cousin of Barnabas (concerning whom you have received instructions—if he comes to you, welcome him).”

🌿 Devotional Reflection

At the close of Paul’s letter,
he does not rush to discuss doctrine,
nor does he conclude with theology.
Instead, he carefully mentions names—
one by one.

These names
are not success stories,
but life stories renewed by the gospel.

Aristarchus—
imprisoned not because of crime,
but bound for the sake of Christ.
In the eyes of the world, a failure;
in the kingdom of God,
a co-worker crowned with honor.

Mark—
one who once withdrew midway,
whose actions once caused division,
and who was even, for a time, mistrusted.
Yet now, he is named again,
commended again,
and received again.

Paul gives the church a clear instruction:
“Welcome him.”

This is not emotional preference,
but spiritual obedience.
Not because Mark is flawless,
but because Christ has already been at work in him.

This verse reminds us:
the church is not a place that remembers people’s pasts,
but a community that bears witness to God’s renewal.
Not a place that rejects those who fall,
but one that prepares room
for those who repent and are restored.

Today, do we silently label others?
Do we deny someone another chance
because of a single failure?

Yet if God is willing
to receive again and to send again,
are we willing to open the door
and learn to welcome?

🙏 Prayer

Lord,
grant me a heart that reflects Yours.
Teach me not to dwell on a person’s past,
but to discern the renewal
You are bringing to pass.

Help me honor those who suffer for You,
and give me the courage to welcome those
who once fell,
yet are now being restored by You.

May my life become
a place where others can stand again.
In the name of our Lord Jesus Christ,
Amen.
