He caught a small fish, felt satisfied and joyful, and began packing up, ready to go home.

At that moment, his umbrella accidentally fell into the pond.
He bent down to retrieve it, but unexpectedly pulled up a big fish instead.

He was delighted—
but soon realized that the big fish began to attack him.

1 Timothy 6:6–8

“But godliness with contentment is great gain.
For we brought nothing into the world, and we can take nothing out of it;
but if we have food and clothing, we will be content with that.”

This dream sketches a clear spiritual trajectory.

The small fish represents sufficient provision.
In that moment, the heart was satisfied, the direction was clear,
and he was ready to go home—no longer seeking more.

The umbrella represents covering and a sense of security.
When the umbrella fell into the water, the focus quietly shifted:
from trust to worry;
from contentment to compensation.

It was precisely when he bent down to retrieve the umbrella
that he pulled up a big fish—
an “addition” beyond what was originally needed.

At first, the big fish brought joy;

true “great gain” is not found in “more,”
