📖 Before Restoration Begins, God First Cleanses Our Ears
📅 Date: December 31, 2025
⏰ Time Awakened: 3:33 a.m.

I. Record of the Dream

Dream content:
In the dream, I was removing a large amount of earwax from my ears.

Immediate impression:
There was no disgust or panic,
but a sense of cleansing, release, and growing clarity—
as if something long accumulated
was finally being gently removed.

II. Confirmation Through Timing

Awakened at 3:33

I was not startled awake;
it felt as though a moment, a point in time, had arrived.

This was not a moment of urgency,
but a time in which one could hear and respond.

At the threshold between the end of one year
and the beginning of another,
it felt like a reminder:
before a new season begins, God first adjusts how we listen.

III. Scripture Received in the Moment

📖 Jeremiah 33:3

“Call to Me and I will answer you,
and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know.”

Personal reflection:
This verse was not asking me to act first,
but inviting me into a clearer posture of listening.
Not striving harder to hear,
but allowing what blocks my hearing to be removed.

📌 Brief Background | A Call Within Restoration

This verse was spoken at a time
when the city was facing destruction
and the people were on the brink of exile.
Jeremiah himself was confined.

At the moment when everything seemed to be ending,
God did not begin with solutions,
but with an invitation:

“Call to Me.”

This is the starting point of restoration—
when no way forward can be seen,
God still prepares a path we do not yet know.

IV. Scripture Connection

📘 Philemon

The book of Philemon is not about an increase of knowledge,
but about this question:
when one truly hears the deeper voice of the gospel,
is one willing to respond—and restore—an old relationship in a new way?

Key Spiritual Parallels
• Removing earwax in the dream
→ Symbolizes long-formed judgments and inner voices
that unconsciously affect how we listen
• Jeremiah 33:3
→ God’s promise to reveal a way of restoration
we did not previously know
• Philemon
→ When I truly hear,
God calls for renewed responses
in relationships and choices

V. Spiritual Reflection

The Lord was not rebuking me for failing to hear,
but gently cleansing the way I listen.

I realized that
some voices are not sinful,
yet they cause me to hear only what is “reasonable,”
and not the higher call of Christ.

Like Philemon—
he had to learn to listen with ears
no longer defined by the past,
in order to hear the gospel heart
Paul was conveying.

VI. Life Response

As the old year comes to a close
and a new year begins,
today I choose to:
• Lay down certain judgments I have grown accustomed to
• Pause before responding, and listen first
• Refuse to let past experiences determine how I hear the future
• Allow God, in relationships, attitudes, and decisions,
to show me “a perspective I did not know before”

VII. Prayer

Lord,
thank You for cleansing my ears
before the new year begins.

Not so that I may know more,
but so that in the coming season
I may hear more truly
and walk more faithfully.

Guard my listening,
that I may not be blocked
by old experiences, old wounds, or old positions.
When You speak to me,
grant me a heart like Philemon’s—
challenged, yet renewed by love.

I place the new year into Your hands.
I am willing to listen,
and I am willing to obey.
Amen.

✨ A Line for the New Year

“Before we step into a new year,
God first cleanses our ears,
so that what we hear
is no longer the echo of the past,
but the sound of restoration He is beginning.”
