📖 Remembering God’s Heart for This Land

🗓 Date: 12 January 2026

Yesterday, our cell group went on an outing — the Singapore River Cruise, Merlion Park, Jubilee Bridge, and a city walk.

📜 Scripture

Leviticus 25:10
“You shall consecrate the fiftieth year and proclaim liberty throughout the land to all its inhabitants. It shall be a jubilee for you…”

✨ Sharing

Yesterday, what our cell group experienced was not an ordinary outing. We moved slowly along on the river cruise, passing by the nation’s iconic landmarks, and we also visited places such as Merlion Park and Jubilee Bridge, step by step entering into the very heart of the city.

The journey of this day echoed perfectly the message of Leviticus 25:10.

In the Bible, “Jubilee” is not merely a personal spiritual concept, but a public proclamation — a declaration of freedom to the whole land. It speaks of release, restoration, and people returning to the inheritance and position that God originally gave them.

We did not carry out any ceremony, nor did we deliberately try to express anything. Yet the simple fact that God’s people were walking together in the city already bore witness to a spiritual reality:
God’s heart has never been only about individuals. He also cares about the community, the land, and whether the people who live in this land are living in freedom and grace.

As we crossed one bridge after another, the spiritual picture of Jubilee was also being displayed:
Jubilee itself is about return and restoration — moving from one state to another, from loss to renewal, from burden to release.

Ultimately, Jesus is the complete fulfillment of Jubilee (Luke 4:18). Because of Him, we are already living in the time when “liberty has been proclaimed.”

Yesterday was not just a journey. It was a clear reminder:

We are God’s people placed in this land, and God’s heart for this land remains freedom, restoration, and grace.
