又一次又一次软弱跌倒;

🌿 The God Who Still Shows Grace in Our Cycles

📖 Judges 3:9
“But when the Israelites cried out to the LORD, He raised up a deliverer for them.”
⸻
🕊️ Devotional
The Book of Judges is a very honest—and very piercing—book.
It keeps repeating the same pattern:
Rebellion → Oppression → Crying out → Deliverance → Peace → Rebellion again
If we are honest, we will realize that this does not only describe Israel’s history,
it looks even more like our own spiritual life.
Again and again we make promises to God,
and again and again we fall in weakness.
Again and again we cry out to Him,
and God—again and again—steps in to rescue us.
Why?
Not because we deserve it,
but because of God’s mercy and grace.
In the Book of Judges, God raises up deliverers
not because the people have become better,
but because He cannot bear to abandon them.
He uses the weak Gideon,
He uses the complicated Jephthah,
He even uses the broken Samson.
This is not to celebrate human greatness,
but to reveal this truth:
Grace is not a reward. Grace is mercy.
The Book of Judges ends by saying:
“In those days Israel had no king; everyone did as they saw fit.”
It was a time of spiritual chaos.
Yet even in such darkness,
God never stopped showing grace.
⸻
🔥 Reflection
Perhaps my life, too,
keeps circling in some old patterns:
Resolve → Fail → Regret → Pray → Be lifted up → Become weak again
But Judges reminds me today:
What sustains my life
is not my faithfulness,
but God’s grace.
⸻
🙏 Prayer
Lord,
I confess that my life often looks like the Book of Judges,
full of repeated failures and weaknesses.
But I thank You,
because You are not a God who easily gives up on people.
Again and again You show mercy.
Again and again You bring deliverance.
Do not let me abuse Your grace,
but let me be transformed by Your grace.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.

🌱 Today’s Meditation
My life is not a testimony of how good I am,
but a testimony that:
God is truly full of grace.
