🌿 Let God’s Life Flow into the Whole House
📅 January 28, 2026
📖 Scriptures:
“There is a river whose streams make glad the city of God, the holy dwelling place of the Most High.” (Psalm 46:4)
“Whoever believes in Me, as Scripture has said, rivers of living water will flow from within them.” (John 7:38)
⸻
🏠 Our Hearts Are Like a House
The Bible says that we are God’s temple.
To put it in a simpler way:
Our hearts are like a house.
In a house, there are always:
• Places we use all the time
• Rooms we rarely enter
• And some corners where old things are kept and left untouched for a long time
Most of the time, nothing seems wrong.
But as time passes, these places easily:
Gather dust, grow old, and slowly lose their vitality.
Our inner life is often like this too.
⸻
💧 God’s Presence Is Not Meant to Be Still
The psalm says:
In the city of God, there is a river.
And this river does not flow in only one place.
Instead, it:
Branches out and flows throughout the whole city.
This tells us something very important:
God’s presence is not just “dwelling” in us,
but is meant to bring movement, renewal, and life.
If God truly lives in us,
then His life should also be flowing within us.
⸻
🌊 God Wants to Flow into Every Room
Many times, we only allow God into:
• The parts of us that seem more “spiritual”
• The parts we are willing to show others
But there are also places:
• Where we are tired
• Where we are wounded
• Where we are disappointed
• Where we have already “closed the door”
We seldom bring these to God.
Yet the psalm reminds us:
God’s river is a branching river.
He does not only want to flow into the “living room,”
but into the whole house.
⸻
🔄 Not Just Living on “Old Supplies”
Sometimes, we walk the spiritual journey by relying on:
• Past experiences
• Past feelings
• Past insights
These are not bad.
But Jesus’ promise is:
“Rivers of living water will flow from within.”
Not:
Store a little water and use it for a long time.
But:
There is a continual, living supply flowing from within.
⸻
🤍 A Quiet Moment of Self-Reflection
You may gently ask yourself:
• Are there any “rooms” in me that I have not allowed God to enter for a long time?
• Is my spiritual life flowing, or am I just maintaining it?
• Recently, have I been relying more on “old strength” rather than receiving “new life”?
⸻
🙏 Prayer
Lord,
thank You that You not only call me to follow You,
but You are also willing to dwell within me.
Please do not stay in only one part of my life.
Let the river of Your life
flow into every room within me,
renew me, heal me, and restore my strength.
I do not want to look fine on the outside
while slowly drying up inside.
May You make me alive again from within.
Amen.
