🌿 Remembering and Returning

📅 February 17, 2026
📖 Malachi 4:4

“Remember the law of my servant Moses, the statutes and rules that I commanded him at Horeb for all Israel.”

🌙 Devotional Reflection

This is one of the final words before the Old Testament closes.

God did not give a new command.
He simply said:

“Remember.”

When the people drifted away,
God’s answer was not a more complicated system,
but a return to what had already been spoken.

Many times our spiritual weariness
does not come from lack of knowledge,
but from leaving our first obedience.

To remember the law
is not merely to recite commands,
but to place life again under God’s order.

Horeb was the starting point of the covenant.
There the people heard God’s voice
and learned who they were
and to whom they belonged.

Once a person forgets God’s covenant,
life begins to drift.

This verse is like an anchor:

👉 pulling a wandering heart back to center
👉 redirecting hurried steps
👉 turning faith from habit back into relationship

The Old Testament ends with remembering,
because true renewal
always begins with returning.

🙏 Prayer

Lord,
You have not left us —
we are the ones who wander.

Awaken me to remember Your word,
not as knowledge alone,
but as living obedience.

Bring me back to Your covenant,
back to my first love,
and renew my strength as I return.

In Jesus name, Amen.
