对人来说,一天很短,千年很长;
🌿 God’s Timing, God’s Heart

📖 Scripture
“But do not forget this one thing, dear friends: With the Lord a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day.
The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. Instead he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.”
— 2 Peter 3:8–9
⸻
Devotional
From a human perspective, time often feels like waiting.
When things do not happen as quickly as we hope, it is easy to feel as though God is not acting.
But Peter reminds believers: do not forget this—God views time differently from us.
To humans, a day feels short and a thousand years impossibly long;
but to God, who reigns in eternity,
a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years like a day.
So when God’s promises seem slow to be fulfilled,
it does not mean He has forgotten,
nor does it mean He is delaying.
Peter explains:
God’s “delay” is actually His patience.
God is not rushing to judge the world;
He is waiting for people to repent.
His desire is not destruction,
but salvation.
He does not want anyone to perish,
but desires everyone to turn back to Him.
Often, we long for things to happen immediately,
but God is giving the world more time—
time for more people to hear the gospel,
time for more lives to return to Him.
Therefore, every day that still exists
is a day of grace.
⸻
Meditation
When it feels like God is silent,
it may be the very moment
when He is patiently waiting,
showing mercy,
and extending grace.
God’s timing is not delay—
it is grace.
