🌿 Look and Live
📅 March 20, 2026
📖 Today’s Scripture
“Moses made a bronze serpent and put it on a pole. Then when anyone was bitten by a snake and looked at the bronze serpent, they lived.”
— Numbers 21:9
⸻
✨ Devotional
On the journey through the wilderness, the Israelites grew weary and impatient. Their hearts began to fill with complaints. They no longer remembered God’s leading—only the hardships before them.
Complaints slowly replaced faith.
Then fiery serpents came into the camp. Many were bitten, and death spread among the people. This was not random—it was a reminder: when people turn away from God, life loses its covering.
In their pain, the people finally awakened and said,
“We have sinned.”
When a person is willing to admit their wrong and turn back to God, grace begins to flow.
God did not immediately remove the serpents. Instead, He gave a way that seemed simple, yet deeply profound:
make a bronze serpent and lift it up on a pole.
Whoever was bitten—if they looked at it—would live.
This was not about human effort or good works.
It was about a choice—
👉 whether to believe God’s word and turn toward Him.
Some may wonder:
“Can just one look really make a difference?”
Yet it is precisely in that act of looking that the condition of the heart is revealed.
Will you continue to doubt, or choose to believe?
Will you keep your eyes on the wound,
or lift your eyes to God’s provision?
When a person chooses to look up, life is restored.
⸻
🌊 Spiritual Reflection
At times, we are just like the people in the wilderness:
• quick to complain about circumstances
• quick to lose faith
• focused on problems instead of God
Yet God still provides a way.
The key today is not how weak you are,
but—
👉 whether you are willing to turn to Him.
⸻
🙏 Prayer
Lord,
shine Your light on every place in my heart filled with complaint and unbelief.
When I feel overwhelmed by circumstances,
help me not to focus only on the problem,
but to lift my eyes and look to You.
Even in my weakest moments,
teach me to choose to trust Your word.
Restore life within me,
that I may once again walk in Your grace and peace.
In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.
