一、信仰的根基：神的应许
保罗在书信一开始，就把信仰的根基说得非常清楚——
我们的盼望建立在神的应许上。
圣经称神为 “无谎言的神”。
人可能失信、改变、忘记承诺，
但神从不会说谎，也不会改变祂的话。
所以，基督徒的信仰不是建立在感觉、环境或人的能力上，
而是建立在 神可靠的应许 上。
当环境摇动时，
我们仍然可以坚定，因为
神所说的一定成就。

二、真理带来敬虔的生命
保罗提到一个很重要的关系：
真理的知识 → 敬虔的生活。
真正的属灵知识，不只是头脑里的理解，
而是会改变人的生命。
如果真理只停留在知识，
却没有改变生活，那还不是真正认识神。
当我们真正认识神：
• 心会敬畏神
• 生活会越来越像基督
• 生命会渐渐结出属灵的果子
真理不是让人骄傲，而是让人敬虔。

三、信仰的终极盼望：永生
保罗说，这一切都指向一个终点：
永生的盼望。
更奇妙的是，这个应许
不是临时决定的。
圣经说：
神在万古之先就已经应许永生。
在世界被创造之前，
神已经计划好救赎，
预备了永生的恩典。
所以我们的信仰不是偶然，
而是神永恒计划的一部分。

✨ 今日默想
真正的信仰有三个层次：
信心 → 真理 → 敬虔 → 永生的盼望
当我们认识神的真理，
生命就被改变；
当生命被改变，
我们的眼目就不再只看今生，
而是看向 神所应许的永生。

🙏 祷告
主啊，
感谢祢是那无谎言的神。
祢在万古以前就为我们预备了永生的盼望。
求祢让我们不仅认识真理，
也让真理改变我们的生命，
使我们活出敬虔、忠心跟随祢。
让我们的信心稳固，
眼目定睛在祢永恒的应许上。

in the hope of eternal life, which God, who does not lie, promised before the beginning of time.”

- The Foundation of Faith: God’s Promise
Paul begins the letter by clearly stating the foundation of our faith — God’s promise.
The Bible calls God “the God who does not lie.”
People may fail, forget, or break their promises,
but God never lies and never changes His word.
Therefore, the Christian faith is not built on feelings, circumstances, or human strength.
It is built on the trustworthy promises of God.
When situations around us shake,
our faith can remain steady because
what God has spoken will surely come to pass.

- Truth Produces a Godly Life
Paul also highlights an important relationship:
Knowledge of truth → Godliness in life.
True spiritual knowledge is not just information in the mind.
It transforms the way a person lives.
If truth only stays as knowledge but does not change our life,
then we have not truly known God.
When we truly know God:
• Our hearts grow in reverence for Him
• Our lives begin to reflect Christ
• Our character gradually bears spiritual fruit
Truth is not meant to make us proud, but to make us godly.

- The Ultimate Hope of Faith: Eternal Life
Paul says that all of this leads to one final hope:
the hope of eternal life.
Even more amazing is that this promise
was not made recently.
Scripture says that God promised this before the beginning of time.
Before the world was created,
God had already planned redemption
and prepared the gift of eternal life.
This means our faith is not accidental;
it is part of God’s eternal plan.

✨ Reflection
True faith moves in this direction:
Faith → Truth → Godliness → Hope of Eternal Life
When we know the truth of God,
our lives begin to change.
As our lives change,
our eyes are lifted beyond this present life
to the eternal hope God has promised.

🙏 Prayer
Lord,
Thank You that You are the God who never lies.
Before the beginning of time, You already prepared the hope of eternal life for us.
Help us not only to know the truth,
but also to live it out in our daily lives.
Let our lives reflect godliness and faithfulness to You.
Strengthen our faith
and keep our eyes fixed on Your eternal promises.
In Jesus’ name we pray, Amen. 🙏
