在人看来,身份决定地位;

🌿 Faith Crosses Three Boundaries

📅 March 8, 2026

📖 Scripture
“By faith the prostitute Rahab, because she welcomed the spies, was not killed with those who were disobedient.”
— Hebrews 11:31

  1. Faith Crosses the Boundary of the Past

Rahab’s past, in the eyes of people, was shameful.
Her profession and background gave her little honor in society.

Yet God did not define her by her past.

When Rahab heard about the works of the Lord, she chose to believe and to turn toward Him. At that moment, her story began to change.

A person’s past may hold many failures,
but faith opens the door to a new future.

God’s grace often begins with a heart willing to believe.

  1. Faith Crosses the Boundary of Identity

Rahab was not an Israelite.
She was not a leader, nor a religious figure.

By human standards, she had no special qualification.

Yet in Hebrews chapter 11, the chapter of the heroes of faith, her name is recorded among those who trusted God.

This reminds us:

God does not choose people based on status, background, or position.
He looks at the heart that trusts Him.

In the eyes of the world, identity determines position.
In the eyes of God, faith determines place.

Through faith, an outsider entered the story of God’s redemption.

  1. Faith Crosses the Boundary of Destiny

When Jericho was judged, the whole city moved toward destruction.

But Rahab, by faith, responded with action:

  • She welcomed the spies
  • She hid them
  • She helped them escape

What seemed like small acts became the turning point of her destiny.

When the walls of Jericho fell,
Rahab and her family were saved.

Even more remarkably, she was later included in the genealogy of Jesus Christ (Matthew 1:5).

Faith allowed God to rewrite her ending.

🌱 Reflection

Rahab’s story shows us that faith can cross three boundaries:

  • the boundary of the past
  • the boundary of identity
  • the boundary of destiny

God does not look at our past, nor at our outward status.
He looks for a heart that is willing to trust Him.

When a person chooses to believe and respond to God,
He can lead that life into a far greater story.

Faith is the doorway through which God transforms a life.

🙏 Prayer

Lord,

Thank You that You do not define me by my past
or measure me by human standards.

Grant me a genuine faith
that believes Your word and responds with courage.

May my life cross the boundaries of past, identity, and destiny,
and walk in the path You have prepared for me.

In Jesus’ name, Amen. 🌿
