“各样美善的恩赐和各样全备的赏赐都是从上头来的，从众光之父那里降下来的，在他并没有改变，也没有转动的影儿。

他按自己的旨意用真道生了我们，叫我们在他所造的万物中，好像初熟的果子。”

一、神是一切美善的源头

雅各提醒我们：

所有真正的好处，都不是偶然得来的，而是 从上头来的恩赐。

生命、救恩、智慧、平安、盼望——

这些最宝贵的礼物，都来自神。

有时候我们在困难中容易怀疑神，

但雅各告诉我们：

神从不把恶给人，

神所赐的都是美善。

当我们回头数算恩典，就会发现：

生命中许多祝福，其实一直从神而来。

二、神是“众光之父”

雅各称神为 众光之父。

太阳、月亮、星辰都会变化，

光影也会随着时间移动。

但神不同。

经文说：

“在他并没有改变，也没有转动的影儿。”

人的环境会改变，

世界会改变，

但神的良善、信实和爱 永远不改变。

这就是信徒最大的安稳。

三、神用真道赐给我们新生命

第18节告诉我们一个更深的恩典：

神不仅赐下祝福，

神还用真道生了我们。

当我们听见福音、相信基督时，

我们得着新的生命，成为神的儿女。

雅各说，我们在万物中

像“初熟的果子”。

意思是：

神正在更新这个世界，

而信徒是 首先被更新的人。

我们的生命，是神新创造的开始。

1️⃣ 我是否常常看见神已经赐下的恩典？

2️⃣ 在变化的世界中，我是否相信神永不改变？

3️⃣ 我是否活出“初熟果子”的生命，让人看见神的荣耀？

主啊，

感谢祢是一切美善恩赐的源头。

在这个多变的世界里，

求祢让我记得祢永远不改变。

也求祢帮助我，

活出祢赐给我的新生命，

像初熟的果子一样，

把荣耀归给祢。

🌿 Every Good Gift Comes from Above

“Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow due to change.
Of His own will He brought us forth by the word of truth, that we should be a kind of firstfruits of His creatures.”
— Epistle of James 1:17–18

1. God Is the Source of Every Good Gift

James reminds us that every truly good thing in our lives is not accidental—it comes from above.

Life, salvation, wisdom, peace, and hope are gifts that come from God.

Sometimes in difficulties we may question God, but James clearly teaches us:

God does not give evil; God gives what is good.

When we pause to count our blessings, we begin to see that many things we enjoy in life are actually gifts from Him.

2. God Is the “Father of Lights”

James calls God the Father of lights.

The sun, moon, and stars move and change, and their light casts shifting shadows.

But God is not like that.

Scripture says:

“With Him there is no variation or shadow due to change.”

Circumstances change.
People change.
The world changes.

But God’s goodness, faithfulness, and love never change.

This truth becomes a deep anchor for believers.

3. God Gives Us New Life Through the Word

Verse 18 reveals an even deeper grace.

God not only gives us good gifts—
He gives us new life.

Through the word of truth (the gospel), God brings us into spiritual life.

When we hear the gospel and believe in Christ, we are spiritually reborn.

James says we become “a kind of firstfruits of His creation.”

This means God is renewing the world, and believers are the first sign of that new creation.

Our lives become a testimony of what God is doing.

1️⃣ Do I recognize the good gifts that God has already given me?
2️⃣ In a changing world, do I trust the unchanging nature of God?
3️⃣ Am I living as a “firstfruit,” showing God’s new life to others?

🙏 Prayer

Lord,
Thank You for being the source of every good and perfect gift.

In a world that constantly changes, help me remember that You never change.

Let my life reflect the new life You have given me,
so that I may be like a firstfruit that brings glory to You.
