Be a Person Who Brings Blessing

📖 Today’s Scripture

Philemon 1:10
“I appeal to you for my son Onesimus, whom I have begotten while in my chains.”

Philemon 1:11
“Who once was unprofitable to you, but now is profitable to you and to me.”

✨ Devotional Reflection

The name Onesimus means “useful” or “profitable.” Yet Paul said, “He once was unprofitable, but now he has become profitable.”

A person’s past does not determine their future.

Onesimus once failed, ran away, and disappointed others. But after experiencing grace, his life began to change. The one who once brought trouble became someone who could bless and help others.

This is the beauty of the gospel: God does not leave people trapped in their past. He renews lives and restores purpose.

Being “useful” does not always mean doing great or famous things. Sometimes, a comforting word, sincere companionship, a gentle response, or a quiet act of kindness can become a blessing in someone’s life.

The world often values successful people, but God values people who are beneficial to others.

Not so people can see how great we are, but so that through our lives, others may receive comfort, help, and hope.

🌿 Prayer

Lord, renew my life. Do not let me live only for myself, and do not let me become someone who hurts others.

Help me become a person who brings blessing and encouragement to people around me.

May my words, actions, and daily life bring comfort, warmth, and hope to others.

May I not only be changed by grace, but also live out that grace.

Amen.
