Invisible Protection
23 May 2026 Devotion

Exodus 23:20
“See, I am sending an angel ahead of you to guard you along the way and to bring you to the place I have prepared.”

Sometimes, God’s protection is not something we immediately see.

We often think protection must be obvious—problems instantly solved, doors immediately opened, dangers visibly removed.

But Scripture shows us that many times, God’s protection is already at work in places we cannot see.

He says, “I am sending an angel ahead of you.”

That means before you arrive, God is already there.
Before you know what lies ahead, He already knows.
While you are still worrying, He is already arranging protection.

When Israel walked through the wilderness, it was not because they were strong, but because God Himself was watching over them.

Some enemies were held back, and they never knew it.
Some dangers were removed, and they never even realized it.

Our lives are often like that too.

Some moments of “nothing happened” are not merely luck,
but the quiet covering of an unseen hand.

Perhaps today you are facing the unknown, standing in a situation without clear answers.

Remember:
You are not walking forward alone.
God is not only walking with you—He has already gone ahead of you.

Just because you cannot see it does not mean He is not working.
Just because you do not yet understand does not mean He is not protecting.

Prayer:
Lord, thank You that Your protection does not depend on what I can see.
Thank You that even when I do not know, You have already gone before me—preparing the way and blocking dangers I may never notice.
When I feel anxious about the unknown, help me trust that You are already there.
Let me walk in peace today, not because everything is certain, but because You are with me.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
