Grace Is Given to the Humble

21/6/26 Devotional Reflection

Scripture:
Obadiah 1:2

“Behold, I will make you small among the nations; you shall be greatly despised.”

Edom once relied on its strategic location, wealth, and strength, believing itself to be secure and untouchable. Pride filled its heart. Yet God declared that it would become the smallest among the nations and be greatly despised.

This passage reminds us that our true worth is not found in our position, achievements, or abilities, but in whether we walk humbly before God. Pride causes us to overestimate ourselves and look down on others, while humility leads us to depend on God and treat people with mercy and love.

The glory of this world will fade, and human strength will eventually fail, but the grace God gives to the humble never changes. When we lay aside self-reliance, stop trusting in our own wisdom, and place our confidence in God’s leading, we will stand firm in His presence.

May we learn to walk in humility every day—not boasting in what we possess or forgetting God in times of success, but living with reverence and gratitude, following the path that pleases Him.

Prayer:

Lord, guard my heart and keep me from pride. Teach me to walk humbly with You each day. Help me not to rely on my own strength or understanding, but to look to Your grace in every situation. May my life bring glory to You and become a blessing to those around me.

In the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, Amen.
