经文：

“故此，你们要顺服　神。务要抵挡魔鬼，魔鬼就必离开你们逃跑了。
你们亲近　神，　神就必亲近你们。有罪的人哪，要洁净你们的手；心怀二意的人哪，要清洁你们的心。”
——雅各书 4:7–8

很多人读到这段经文，最先注意的是：「抵挡魔鬼，魔鬼就必逃跑。」但雅各告诉我们，真正的属灵次序不是先与魔鬼争战，而是先顺服神。

顺服神，就是把生命的主权重新交回给祂。当一个人愿意顺服神，站在神的权柄之下，魔鬼便失去了控告和攻击的立足点。

接着，雅各说：「你们亲近神，神就必亲近你们。」神从来没有远离祂的儿女，很多时候，是我们的心被世界、忧虑、忙碌和罪遮盖了。当我们愿意回转、安静来到祂面前，我们会发现，神一直都在那里，等候我们。

因此，雅各继续提醒：「要洁净你们的手，清洁你们的心。」洁净双手代表外在行为的更新，清洁内心代表里面动机与心思的改变。神所要的不只是外表敬虔，更是一颗专一爱祂的心。

属灵得胜，不是靠自己的能力，而是靠持续住在神里面。越亲近神，黑暗就越没有地位；越顺服神，仇敌就越站立不住。

愿我们每天都选择亲近神、顺服神，让生命成为祂喜悦的居所。当我们站在神这一边，祂必赐下恩典、能力与平安，使我们胜过一切试探与攻击。

祷告：

天父，帮助我每天选择顺服你，而不是顺从自己的意思。求你洁净我的双手，也洁净我的内心，使我除去一切不讨你喜悦的事。让我常常亲近你，在你的同在中得着力量、智慧和平安。奉主耶稣的名祷告，阿们。

Draw Near to God, Stand Firm Against the Enemy

July 19, 2026 – Devotional

Scripture:

“Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Draw near to God, and He will draw near to you. Wash your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded.”
— James 4:7–8

Many people focus first on the words, “Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.” But James reveals the true spiritual order: before resisting the devil, we must first submit to God.

To submit to God is to surrender the lordship of our lives back to Him. When we willingly place ourselves under His authority, the enemy loses the ground from which he accuses and attacks us.

James then says, “Draw near to God, and He will draw near to you.” God has never moved away from His children. More often, it is our hearts that become distracted by the world, consumed by worries, overwhelmed by busyness, or clouded by sin. When we choose to return to Him and quietly seek His presence, we discover that He has been waiting for us all along.

That is why James continues, “Wash your hands… and purify your hearts.” Clean hands represent outward actions that honor God, while a pure heart speaks of inward motives and thoughts that are wholly devoted to Him. God desires not merely outward obedience, but a heart that loves Him with undivided loyalty.

Spiritual victory does not come through our own strength, but by abiding in God. The closer we draw to Him, the less room there is for darkness. The more we submit to Him, the less power the enemy has over us.

May we choose each day to draw near to God and live in joyful submission to Him. As we stand on God’s side, He will fill us with His grace, strength, and peace, enabling us to overcome every temptation and every attack of the enemy.

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, help me each day to choose Your will over my own. Cleanse my hands and purify my heart, removing everything that is not pleasing to You. Draw me close to Your presence, where I can receive Your strength, wisdom, and peace. May my life remain firmly rooted in You, and may I stand strong against every temptation through Your grace. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
