「你们寻求我，若专心寻求我，就必寻见。耶和华说：我必被你们寻见。」

耶利米书 31:3
「我以永远的爱爱你，因此我以慈爱吸引你。」

马太福音 7:7
「祈求，就会给你们；寻找，就会寻见；叩门，就会给你们开门。」

七夕，是华人农历七月初七——7/7。

这也让我联想到一个很有意思的经文数字：

马太福音 7:7。

「祈求，就会给你们；
寻找，就会寻见；
叩门，就会给你们开门。」

当然，这只是一个灵修上的巧妙联想，并不是说七夕与马太福音7:7本来就有直接关系。

但两者放在一起，却出现了一个很美的主题：

寻找与寻见。

七夕的故事里，牛郎与织女隔着银河，盼望一年一次的相会。这个古老的故事之所以流传至今，也许因为人的心里都有一种深深的渴望：

寻找所爱，也渴望被爱寻找。

而在耶利米书中，神也发出了一个关于「寻找」的邀请：

「你们寻求我，若专心寻求我，就必寻见。」

为什么我们能够寻见祂？

耶利米书31章给出了爱的答案：

「我以永远的爱爱你，因此我以慈爱吸引你。」

原来，在我们的寻找之前，已经有祂的爱。

因为祂爱，所以祂吸引；
因为祂吸引，我们开始寻求；
当我们专心寻求，就必寻见。

从七月初七想到马太福音7:7，
再从「寻找，就会寻见」想到耶利米书29:13：

祈求 → 寻找 → 寻见 → 归回

七夕传说中的相会，一年只有一次；
但神的爱不是一年一次。

祂说：

「我以永远的爱爱你。」

❤️ 七夕，7月7日。
一个关于寻找与相遇的日子。

马太福音7:7：寻找，就会寻见。
耶利米书29:13：专心寻求，就必寻见。
耶利米书31:3：因为祂早已用永远的爱爱我们。

银河之外，有一种更长久的爱。

Beyond the Milky Way, There Is an Everlasting Love

“I have loved you with an everlasting love; therefore I have drawn you with lovingkindness.”

“Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.”

✦ Devotional Reflection

Qixi falls on the seventh day of the seventh month — 7/7 — in the Chinese lunar calendar.

This brings to mind an interesting connection:

Matthew 7:7.

“Ask and it will be given to you;
seek and you will find;
knock and the door will be opened to you.”

Of course, this is simply a meaningful devotional connection; it does not mean that Qixi and Matthew 7:7 have any original or historical relationship.

Yet when we place them side by side, a beautiful theme emerges:

Seeking and finding.

In the story of Qixi, the Cowherd and the Weaver Girl are separated by the Milky Way, longing for their once-a-year reunion.

Perhaps this ancient story has endured because deep within the human heart is a longing:

To seek the one we love, and also to be sought by the one who loves us.

In Jeremiah, God also gives us an invitation to seek:

“You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.”

But why can we find Him?

Jeremiah 31 gives us the answer of love:

“I have loved you with an everlasting love; therefore I have drawn you with lovingkindness.”

Before our seeking, there was already His love.

Because He loves, He draws us.
Because He draws us, we begin to seek Him.
And when we seek Him wholeheartedly, we will find Him.

From Qixi, the seventh day of the seventh month, we are reminded of Matthew 7:7;
and from “seek and you will find,” we are reminded of Jeremiah 29:13:

Ask → Seek → Find → Return

In the Qixi legend, the lovers meet only once a year.

But God’s love is not once a year.

He says:

“I have loved you with an everlasting love.”

❤️ Qixi — the seventh day of the seventh month.
A day that reminds us of seeking and reunion.

Matthew 7:7 — Seek and you will find.
Jeremiah 29:13 — Seek Me wholeheartedly and you will find Me.
Jeremiah 31:3 — Because He has already loved us with an everlasting love.

Beyond the Milky Way, there is an everlasting love.
