当天回应,地就回应;
当地回应,五谷、新酒和油就出现;
When Heaven Responds, the Earth Responds
August 23, 2026 | Devotional Scripture: Hosea 2:21–22
“In that day I will respond,” declares the LORD—
“I will respond to the skies,
and they will respond to the earth;
and the earth will respond to the grain,
the new wine and the olive oil,
and they will respond to Jezreel.”
This is a beautiful picture of restoration:
God responds to heaven,
heaven responds to the earth,
the earth responds with grain, new wine, and oil,
and all these respond to Jezreel.
The source of this entire chain of provision begins with God saying: “I will respond.”
When God responds, what was disconnected begins to reconnect. Barren ground becomes fruitful again, and places of lack begin to experience provision.
What is especially meaningful is the name “Jezreel,” which means “God sows” or “God plants.” A name that once carried the mark of judgment now becomes a sign of restoration. God does not merely remove barrenness; He sows again, plants again, and causes life to grow again.
Sometimes we only look at the “earth” before us—Why is there still no fruit? Why has the situation not changed? But this passage lifts our eyes higher: true restoration begins with God.
When heaven responds, the earth responds.
When the earth responds, grain, new wine, and oil appear.
And ultimately, the blessing reaches those whom God Himself has planted.
Do not mistake temporary barrenness for the absence of God’s planting.
Perhaps beneath the soil, the seed is already there.
For what God has planted will, in its appointed season, sprout, grow, and bear fruit.
