2026年8月27日｜灵修经文：俄巴底亚书 1:18

“雅各家必成为大火；约瑟家必为火焰。以扫家必如碎秸，火必将他烧着吞灭；以扫家必无余剩的。”这是耶和华说的。

这节经文延续前一节的恢复应许，宣告神对罪恶的彻底审判。以扫家如“碎秸”，象征他们倚靠山寨、财富和势力，却在神的圣洁面前虚弱不堪；火必将其烧尽，表明神的审判完全而不可逃避。

雅各家和约瑟家成为“大火”和“火焰”，不是因为他们本身配得，而是因为神亲自恢复并赐给他们力量。受压制的百姓不再只是被动受苦，而要成为神彰显公义的器皿。约瑟虽曾被卖、被囚，最终仍蒙神高举，这也显明神没有忘记祂的约。

神的火既有审判，也有洁净。对拒绝悔改、持续抵挡神的人，火是吞灭；对愿意归向神的人，火是炼净。神要除去我们里面的骄傲、自义、苦毒和不饶恕，使我们不再倚靠自己，成为合祂使用的器皿。

因此，我们不应只把这节经文应用在仇敌身上，也要让神的话光照自己：我是否仍倚靠能力、财富和关系？是否隐藏骄傲，紧抓苦毒，不肯悔改？今天就当谦卑来到神面前，接受祂的洁净。

神的火审判罪恶，也洁净属祂的人；烧毁骄傲，也炼出圣洁；吞灭抵挡祂的势力，也使祂的百姓重新站立。

祷告：

主啊，求你用圣洁的火光照我的生命，显明并除去骄傲、自义、苦毒、嫉妒和不饶恕。求你赐我谦卑顺服的心，不逃避你的光照，甘心接受你的洁净，成为合你使用的器皿。

当我遭受不公平和压制时，求你亲自为我伸冤，使我不以恶报恶，仍相信你的公义。愿我在熬炼中站立，在洁净中更新，成为彰显你荣耀的人。阿们。

“Judgment and Cleansing in the Fire”

August 27, 2026｜Devotional Scripture: Obadiah 1:18

“Then the house of Jacob shall be a fire, and the house of Joseph a flame; but the house of Esau shall be stubble. They shall burn them and consume them, and there shall be no survivor of the house of Esau.” For the LORD has spoken.

This verse continues the promise of restoration in the previous verse and declares God’s complete judgment against evil. The house of Esau is compared to “stubble,” symbolizing that although they relied on their mountain strongholds, wealth, and power, they were utterly weak before God’s holiness. The fire would burn them up completely, showing that God’s judgment is thorough and impossible to escape.

The house of Jacob and the house of Joseph would become a “fire” and a “flame,” not because they were worthy in themselves, but because God personally restored them and gave them strength. The oppressed people would no longer merely suffer passively; they would become instruments through which God displayed His righteousness. Joseph was once sold and imprisoned, yet God eventually exalted him. This also shows that God had not forgotten His covenant.

God’s fire brings both judgment and cleansing. For those who refuse to repent and continue resisting God, the fire is consuming. For those who are willing to turn back to Him, the fire is refining. God desires to remove the pride, self-righteousness, bitterness, and unforgiveness within us, so that we will no longer rely on ourselves but become vessels fit for His use.

Therefore, we should not apply this verse only to our enemies; we must also allow God’s Word to shine upon our own hearts: Am I still relying on power, wealth, and relationships? Am I hiding pride, holding on to bitterness, and refusing to repent? Today, we should come humbly before God and receive His cleansing.

God’s fire judges evil and cleanses those who belong to Him; it burns away pride and refines holiness; it consumes the forces that resist Him and enables His people to stand again.

Prayer:

Lord, please shine Your holy fire upon my life, revealing and removing pride, self-righteousness, bitterness, jealousy, and unforgiveness. Give me a humble and obedient heart. Help me not to avoid Your searching light, but willingly receive Your cleansing and become a vessel fit for Your use.

When I suffer injustice and oppression, please defend me Yourself. Help me not to repay evil with evil, but to continue trusting in Your righteousness. May I stand firm through refinement, be renewed through cleansing, and become a person who displays Your glory. Amen.
