2026年9月5日｜灵修经文：马可福音 6:20

「因为希律知道约翰是义人，是圣人，所以敬畏他，保护他，听他讲论，就多照着行，并且乐意听他（“多照着行”有古卷作“游移不定”）。」
——马可福音 6:20

梦中，有人提到：

「Tsadi 是知道。」

但在梦里，我里面却觉得：

Tsadi 是「义」。

醒来以后思想这件事，发现这是一个很特别的提醒。

希伯来字母 Tsadi（צ） 让人联想到 Tzaddik（צַדִּיק）——义人，以及 Tzedek（צֶדֶק）——公义。

而今天所读的马可福音 6:20，恰好出现了一句话：

「希律知道约翰是义人。」

希律「知道」。

他知道约翰是义人，是圣人；
他敬畏约翰；
他保护约翰；
他甚至乐意听约翰讲论。

他不是没有听见，
也不是不知道什么是对的。

可是问题就在这里：

知道，并不等于做到。

希律虽然知道约翰所说的是对的，却没有真正按照所知道的去选择。

当环境的压力来到，
当自己的面子受到挑战，
当人的声音变得比良心更大的时候，

他最终还是选择杀了那个自己明明知道是「义人」的约翰。

这使我明白梦中「知道」与「义」之间的分别。

知道什么是义，只是开始；
知道以后愿意去行，才进入义的实际。

真理若只停留在头脑里，
它仍然只是「我知道」。

但当真理进入我们的选择，
进入我们的行动，
进入我们面对压力时仍然坚持的道路，

「知道」才成为「行出来」。

圣经说：

「只是你们要行道，不要单单听道，自己欺哄自己。」
——雅各书 1:22

所以，真正的问题不是：

「我知道多少？」

而是：

「我所知道的，我做到了多少？」

希律的悲剧，就是停留在「知道」。

他知道约翰是义人，
却没有选择站在义的一边。

梦中的 Tsadi 因此成为一个提醒：

不只是知道，却也做到，才算义。

当神让我知道祂的心意，
求主使我不游移不定；

当我知道什么是对的，
求主给我勇气去做；

当顺服需要付代价，
求主使我仍然选择站在祂这一边。

因为神所要的，
不只是一个「知道真理」的人，

而是一个愿意行出真理的人。

今日祷告

主啊，

求你不要让我停留在「知道」。

你让我知道什么是对的，
也赐我力量去做到；

你让我看见什么是义，
也赐我勇气选择义。

不要让我像希律一样，
明明知道，却在关键的时候游移不定。

愿你的话不只进入我的思想，
更进入我的选择和行动。

让我不只是知道义，
更愿意行义；
不只是听见真理，
更愿意活出真理。

“Not Just Knowing, But Doing”

September 5, 2026 | Devotional Scripture: Mark 6:20

“For Herod feared John and protected him, knowing him to be a righteous and holy man. When Herod heard John, he was greatly puzzled; yet he liked to listen to him.”
— Mark 6:20

In a dream, someone mentioned:

“Tsadi means knowing.”

But within me, I felt:

Tsadi means “righteousness.”

When I woke up and reflected on this, I sensed there was something significant in the contrast.

The Hebrew letter Tsadi (צ) is closely associated with words such as Tzaddik (צַדִּיק) — a righteous person, and Tzedek (צֶדֶק) — righteousness or justice.

Then today, I read Mark 6:20, and one statement stood out:

“Herod… knowing him to be a righteous… man.”

Herod knew.

He knew that John was righteous and holy.
He feared John.
He protected John.
He even enjoyed listening to him.

It was not that Herod had never heard the truth.
Neither was it that he did not know what was right.

But this is where the problem lay:

Knowing is not the same as doing.

Herod knew that John was right, yet he did not ultimately act according to what he knew.

When pressure came,
when his reputation was at stake,
and when the voices around him became louder than his conscience,

he eventually ordered the death of the very man whom he knew to be righteous.

This helped me understand the distinction in the dream between “knowing” and “righteousness.”

Knowing what is right is only the beginning.
Knowing it and then doing it is what brings righteousness into practice.

If truth remains only in our minds,
it remains merely something we “know.”

But when truth enters our choices,
shapes our actions,
and determines how we respond even under pressure,

what we know begins to become what we live.

Scripture says:

“Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says.”
— James 1:22

Therefore, the real question is not:

“How much do I know?”

But rather:

“How much of what I know am I actually living out?”

Herod’s tragedy was that he stopped at knowing.

He knew John was righteous,
yet when the decisive moment came,
he did not choose to stand on the side of righteousness.

And so Tsadi in the dream became a reminder to me:

It is not enough just to know what is right.
We must also do what is right.
Righteousness must be lived out.

When God reveals His will to me,
may I not remain hesitant.

When I know what is right,
may He give me the courage to do it.

And when obedience comes with a cost,
may He give me the strength to still choose His way.

For God is not merely looking for people who know the truth,

but for people who are willing to live out the truth.

Today’s Prayer

Lord,

do not let me stop at simply knowing.

When You show me what is right,
give me the strength to do it.

When You reveal righteousness to me,
give me the courage to choose it.

Do not let me be like Herod,
knowing what is right yet wavering when the decisive moment comes.

May Your Word not only enter my mind,
but also shape my choices and my actions.

Let me not only know what is right,
but also do what is right;
not only hear the truth,
but live out the truth.
