1819——新加坡历史的重要起点;

🤖 Transformer——

Transformer

Transformation——

想到民数记18:19的盐约;

来到路加福音4:18的膏抹与差遣;

🌊 SG61: The River Begins to Flow, Entering the Year of the Lord’s Favor

August 2026 | A National Day Reflection for Singapore’s 61st Anniversary

Scripture

“The Spirit of the Sovereign LORD is on me, because the LORD has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners; to proclaim the year of the LORD’s favor…”
—Isaiah 61:1–2

This year, Singapore celebrates its 61st year of independence.

When I think of “61,” I naturally think of Isaiah 61.

Isaiah 61 presents a powerful picture:

the anointing of the Holy Spirit, healing for the brokenhearted, freedom for the captives, comfort for those who mourn, and the proclamation of the year of the LORD’s favor.

Even more significantly, when Jesus began His public ministry, this was the very passage He read in the synagogue at Nazareth:

“The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he has anointed me… He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners and recovery of sight for the blind, to set the oppressed free, to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor.”
—Luke 4:18–19

So for me, 61 is more than an anniversary number. It has also become a reminder in prayer: may Singapore enter into healing, restoration, freedom, and grace.

🌊 26—A Year When the River Begins to Flow

At the beginning of 2026, I continually sensed the theme of a “river” in my spirit.

The association between “26” and the “河流river” is a personal sign in what I have received; and throughout Scripture, rivers often portray life, healing, and renewal.

At the beginning of the year, I also felt led to undertake a prayer journey on the Singapore River, using “salt” as a symbol.

And here, a connection that was very meaningful to me emerged:

The year 1819 was an important turning point in the development of modern Singapore. Raffles arrived in Singapore that year and subsequently established a British trading post, so 1819 is often regarded as an important starting point in the development of modern Singapore.

And when I saw “18:19,” I was also reminded of Numbers:

“Whatever is set aside from the holy offerings the Israelites present to the LORD I give to you and your sons and daughters as your perpetual share. It is an everlasting covenant of salt before the LORD for both you and your offspring.”
—Numbers 18:19

Therefore, in terms of what I personally received in prayer:

1819—the important starting point of Singapore’s modern history;
18:19—the covenant of salt in Scripture.

These two “1819s” came together during the prayer journey on the Singapore River and became a very special reminder to me.

Salt itself has no spiritual power; it is God who truly heals and renews. But salt can serve as a symbol in prayer, reminding us of covenant, preservation, cleansing, and healing.

This also reminds me of Elisha healing the water source at Jericho:

“This is what the LORD says: ‘I have healed this water.’”
—2 Kings 2:21

Therefore, for me, the act of placing salt into the Singapore River expressed a prayer:

On the river connected with an important starting point in the development of modern Singapore, using the “covenant of salt” in 18:19 as a sign, I prayed that God would remember this land, heal its source, and cause life to flow again.

🕊️ From 18:19 to 4:18

Even more significantly, that day we began our prayer journey on the Singapore River at 4:00 p.m.

When the prayer and declarations ended, the time was exactly:

4:18.

This again reminded me of Luke 4:18:

“The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he has anointed me… He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners and recovery of sight for the blind, to set the oppressed free.”

If 18:19 reminds me of the “covenant of salt,” then 4:18 points to “anointing and sending.”

So the prayer journey that day seemed to form a line:

18:19 Covenant of Salt → River → 4:18 Anointing and Sending

Beginning with covenant,
passing through healing and renewal,
and finally entering into freedom and sending.

The river is not meant to remain still.
Renewal is not merely for ourselves.
After healing comes sending.

The grace God gives us is ultimately meant to flow to others.

🤖 Transformer—Renewal Beginning at the Foundation

On the morning of the day I went to the Singapore River, I dreamed of a Transformer being placed under a bed.

The similar sounds of the Chinese words for “bed” and “boat,” together with the image of the Transformer, are symbols in my personal reflection rather than a fixed biblical interpretation of dreams.

But it reminded me of Romans 12:

“Offer your bodies as a living sacrifice.”
—Romans 12:1

“Be transformed by the renewing of your mind.”
—Romans 12:2

The most direct image conveyed by a Transformer is:

Transformation—change, renewal, transformation.

And Romans does not stop at 12:2.

Immediately afterward, in Romans 12:3–8, Paul begins to speak about the body of Christ and the different gifts.

This reveals a beautiful spiritual progression:

Surrender → Renewal → Gifts → Service

Life first becomes an altar,
the mind undergoes renewal,
and then each person, according to the grace God has given,
fulfills a different function within the body of Christ.

True renewal does not stop with:

“I have changed.”

It goes further to become:

“I have been renewed so that I can become a blessing to others.”

🇸🇬 From 1819 and 26 to 61

Looking back, these numbers form a meaningful picture within my personal prayer journey:

1819—Beginning and Covenant of Salt.
An important starting point in the development of modern Singapore, while also reminding me of the “everlasting covenant of salt” in Numbers 18:19.

26—The River Begins to Flow.
Life begins to flow, and the source experiences healing and renewal.

4:18—Anointing and Sending.
The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because He has anointed me and sent me.

61—The Year of Favor and Restoration.
Healing the brokenhearted, freeing the captives, comforting those who mourn, and proclaiming the year of the LORD’s favor.

Ultimately, these personal impressions should not point merely to the numbers themselves, but to the biblical truths they remind me of:

🌊 Covenant reminds us of His faithfulness.

🌊 The river brings continual renewal to life.

🕊️ Anointing calls us to rise and serve.

🇸🇬 The year of favor causes blessing to flow into this land.

From the historical starting point of 1819,
to the covenant of salt in Numbers 18:19;

from prayer on the Singapore River,
to the anointing and sending of Luke 4:18;

and from the river of 2026,
to Singapore’s 61st anniversary and Isaiah 61.

For me, this year can be summed up in one sentence:

“Remember His covenant and heal the source of the river; let lives be renewed and gifts activated; through the anointing of the Holy Spirit, enter into His sending and proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor.”

As Singapore celebrates its 61st anniversary, may our prayers be not only for ourselves, but also for this land:

May the Spirit of the Lord move throughout Singapore, healing the brokenhearted, strengthening the weak, and setting the oppressed free. May the river of life continue to flow from here, so that Singapore may not only be a land that is blessed, but also a vessel of blessing to the nations.
