A Covenant With Me
27 May 2026 Devotion

Joshua 1:5
“As I was with Moses, so I will be with you; I will never leave you nor forsake you.”

A tree stands firm in the storm not because the weather is always calm, but because its roots go deep.

Joshua was not stepping into an easy new beginning. He was facing the unknown, challenges, and even battles.

Moses was gone. The road ahead was unfamiliar. Yet the responsibility had already come.

But God’s promise was not:
“I will make everything easy.”

Instead, it was:

“I will be with you.”

That is covenant.

A true covenant does not mean life will have no storms. It means that in the storms, God does not leave.

Many times, we experience shaking.

Plans do not unfold as expected. Answers seem delayed. Sometimes we even wonder:

“Am I walking this alone?”

But God says:

“I will never leave you nor forsake you.”

What makes us steady is not our own strength, but knowing that the covenant-keeping God walks with us.

Today, perhaps your circumstances have not changed—but His promise has not changed either.

You are not facing this alone.

Because He has a covenant with you.

Prayer:
Lord, thank You for being the God who keeps His covenant. When I face uncertainty, waiting, and pressure, help me not to live by what I see, but to remember Your presence. Even while the storms remain, let my heart stand firm in You. Thank You for never leaving me or forsaking me. Amen.
