经文｜希伯来书 12:18–24

「你们原不是来到那能摸的山……乃是来到锡安山，永生神的城邑，就是天上的耶路撒冷……并新约的中保耶稣，以及所洒的血。」

灵修内容

希伯来书十二章把两座山摆在我们面前：

西奈山与锡安山。

两座山都与神有关，却让我们看见两个不同的属灵画面。

西奈山——圣洁的神，人不敢靠近

当神在西奈山向以色列人显现时，有火焰、密云、黑暗、暴风和角声。

神的圣洁如此真实，以致百姓战兢惧怕，不敢靠近。

西奈山让人看见：

神是圣洁的，而人靠自己无法来到圣洁的神面前。

律法显明神的标准，也让人看见自己的罪和有限。

锡安山——因着耶稣，我们可以来到神面前

但希伯来书接着说：

「你们乃是来到锡安山。」

这是一个何等大的转折。

从西奈山的「不可靠近」，
来到锡安山的「你们乃是来到」。

不是因为神不再圣洁，
也不是因为罪已经无所谓，

而是因为在我们与圣洁的神之间，出现了一位中保——

耶稣基督。

祂担当我们的罪，祂的血为我们开启了一条来到父神面前的道路。

所以：

西奈山显明神的圣洁，
锡安山显明神的恩典。

西奈山使人看见自己的罪，
锡安山使人看见基督的救赎。

西奈山说：靠自己，你不能来到；
锡安山说：因着耶稣，你可以来到。

这不是律法与恩典彼此冲突。

律法让我们知道为什么需要救恩；
恩典让我们知道救恩已经在基督里为我们成就。

因此，希伯来书不是叫我们永远停留在山脚下惧怕神，而是邀请我们因着耶稣，带着敬畏，却也带着信心来到祂面前。

两座山，两种光景

西奈山：
圣洁 · 律法 · 战兢 · 距离

锡安山：
恩典 · 救赎 · 新约 · 亲近

从西奈到锡安，不是神改变了，

而是耶稣为我们开了道路。

过去，人因罪不能靠近；
如今，我们因基督可以亲近。

过去，看见山上的火而惧怕；
如今，看见十字架上的血而得着盼望。

所以，当我们面对人生一座又一座的「山」时，不要忘记：

我们不是靠自己的力量爬到神那里。

是耶稣已经为我们开路，把我们带到神面前。

今日默想

我的信仰更像站在西奈山下，还是来到锡安山？

我是否仍然觉得：

「我要做得够好，神才会接纳我」？

还是我真正相信：

因为耶稣，我已经可以来到父神面前。

敬畏神，不等于远离神。

真正认识神的圣洁，会使我们敬畏祂；
真正认识基督的恩典，却使我们更愿意亲近祂。

不要停留在山脚下。

你们乃是来到锡安山。

祷告

亲爱的天父，

感谢祢让我从西奈山看见祢的圣洁，也从锡安山看见祢奇妙的恩典。

我知道自己无法靠行为、努力和功劳来到祢面前，但感谢祢赐下耶稣，成为新约的中保。

因着祂的宝血，我可以亲近祢；
因着祂的救赎，我不再站在远处；
因着祂的恩典，我可以坦然来到祢面前。

求祢使我一生敬畏祢，却不远离祢；
认识自己的软弱，却更深倚靠基督。

无论前面的山有多高，都让我记得：

我不是靠自己爬向祢，
而是耶稣已经为我开了道路。

我乃是来到锡安山，来到永生神的城，来到新约的中保耶稣面前。

You Have Come to Mount Zion

“For you have not come to a mountain that can be touched… but you have come to Mount Zion, to the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem… and to Jesus, the mediator of a new covenant, and to the sprinkled blood.”

Hebrews 4:16

“Therefore, let us approach the throne of grace with boldness, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in time of need.”

Hebrews 10:19–22

“Therefore, brothers and sisters, since we have boldness to enter the sanctuary through the blood of Jesus, he has inaugurated for us a new and living way through the curtain… and since we have a great high priest over the house of God, let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, with our hearts sprinkled clean from an evil conscience and our bodies washed in pure water.”

Devotional Reflection

Hebrews chapter 12 places two mountains before us:

Mount Sinai and Mount Zion.

Both mountains are connected with God, yet they reveal two different spiritual realities.

Mount Sinai—The Holy God, Whom We Cannot Approach by Our Own Strength

Mount Sinai reveals God’s holiness, majesty, and righteousness. Through the giving of the law, God showed people His standards and helped them recognize their own sin and limitations.

In the presence of God’s holiness, no one can stand by relying on personal conduct, effort, or merit.

Mount Sinai shows us this truth:

God is holy, and sinners cannot come into His presence by their own strength.

Therefore, we need a mediator and a way opened by God Himself.

Mount Zion—Through Jesus, We Can Come into God’s Presence

Hebrews continues:

“You have come to Mount Zion.”

What a great turning point this is.

From the distance and fear revealed at Mount Sinai, we come to the nearness and grace represented by Mount Zion.

This is not because God is no longer holy, nor because sin no longer matters. It is because Jesus Christ has become the mediator of the new covenant.

He bore our sins and, through His blood, opened for us a new and living way so that we may come boldly into God’s presence.

Therefore:

Mount Sinai reveals God’s holiness;
Mount Zion reveals God’s grace.

Mount Sinai helps us see our sin;
Mount Zion helps us see Christ’s redemption.

Mount Sinai shows that we cannot come to God by our own strength;
Mount Zion declares that through Jesus, we can draw near to God.

Holiness and grace are not in conflict with each other.

God’s holiness shows us that we need salvation;
God’s grace tells us that salvation has already been accomplished for us in Christ.

Therefore, Hebrews does not call us to remain forever in fear and distance. Instead, it invites us to come before God through Jesus, with reverence and faith.

Two Mountains, Two Realities

Mount Sinai:
Holiness · Law · Warning of judgment · Distance

Mount Zion:
Grace · Redemption · New covenant · Nearness

The movement from Mount Sinai to Mount Zion does not mean that God has changed. Rather, Jesus has opened the way for us.

In the past, sin kept people from drawing near to God;
now, through Christ, we can come into God’s presence.

In the past, people could only see their own guilt;
now, the blood of Christ cleanses our consciences so that we may draw near to God with a sincere heart and full assurance of faith.

Therefore, when we face weakness, failure, and fear in life, let us not forget:

We do not come to God by our own strength.
Jesus has already opened the way and brought us into the presence of the Father.

Today’s Reflection

Is my faith still trapped in the mindset that says, “I must do well enough before God will accept me”?

Or do I truly believe:

Because of Jesus, I can already come into the presence of the Father.

Revering God does not mean staying far away from Him.

Knowing God’s holiness leads us to fear Him with reverence;
knowing Christ’s grace makes us even more willing to draw near to Him.

Hebrews reminds us:

We have come to Mount Zion.

We have come to the city of the living God, to the heavenly Jerusalem, and to Jesus, the mediator of the new covenant.

Therefore, we can approach the throne of grace with boldness, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in time of need.

Prayer

Dear Heavenly Father,

Thank You for using the book of Hebrews to help me see Your holiness and also the grace You have given me in Christ.

I confess that I cannot come into Your presence through my own conduct, effort, or merit. Thank You for giving Jesus to be the mediator of the new covenant and for opening a new and living way for me through His blood.

Because of Him, I can draw near to You;
because of Him, I no longer have to remain far away;
because of Him, I can approach the throne of grace with boldness.

Please help me to revere You throughout my life without drawing away from You. Help me recognize my weakness and depend more deeply on Christ.

Whatever difficulties and weaknesses I may face, help me remember:

I do not come into Your presence by my own strength;
Jesus has already opened the way for me.

I have come to Mount Zion, to the city of the living God, and to Jesus, the mediator of the new covenant.

In the name of Jesus Christ, I pray. Amen.
