经文｜雅各书 1:10–11；2:5；5:1–3
「富足的降卑，也该如此。因为他必要过去，如同草上的花一样，太阳出来，热风刮起，草就枯干，花也凋谢，美容就消没了；那富足的人在他所行的事上也要这样衰残。」
「神岂不是拣选了世上的贫穷人，叫他们在信上富足，并承受他所应许给那些爱他之人的国吗？」
「你们的金银都长了锈……你们在这末世只知积攒钱财。」
灵修内容
梦中，看见一位富足的人。
他觉得，钱就应该花在有价值的事情上，而他所选择投入的，是一个传福音的节目。
醒来再读雅各书，发现雅各对财富有一个非常鲜明的提醒：
财富会过去，但我们怎样使用财富，却显明我们真正看重什么。
雅各说，富足的人要学习降卑，因为人的财富如同草上的花。花开的时候美丽耀眼，但太阳出来、热风刮起，很快就会枯干凋谢。
所以，拥有财富不是问题，把短暂的财富当作永恒的依靠，才是危险。
到了雅各书第五章，雅各更严厉地提醒那些只知道积攒钱财的人。财富若只是不断累积，却没有发挥神所赋予的价值，最终仍然会失去。
相反，雅各书 2:5 提到另一种富足：
「在信上富足。」
这让我想到梦中的那位富足人。
他所看重的，不只是钱能够买什么，而是钱能够成就什么。
当财富被投入传扬福音，使更多人有机会听见福音、认识基督、生命被改变，那么短暂的金钱，就被投入了具有永恒意义的事情。
钱花出去，会减少；
但福音进入一个人的生命，却可能继续影响他的家庭、下一代，甚至更多的人。
因此，真正的富足，不只是手中拥有多少，而是知道：
什么值得我投入。
今日默想
雅各书提醒我：
草会枯干，花会凋谢，财富也会过去。
既然如此，我是否愿意趁着神仍把资源放在我手中的时候，把它用在真正有价值的事情上？
不是只问：
「我还能积存多少？」
而是问：
「主啊，我所拥有的，可以为祢成就什么？」
财富会过去，
但福音所结出的果子，可以长存。
祷告
主啊，
感谢祢把不同的资源托付在我的手中。
求祢使我在富足中仍然谦卑，不倚靠无定的钱财，也不让积存财富成为人生的目标。
赐我属天的眼光，使我分辨什么是短暂的，什么具有永恒的价值。
若祢把资源交在我的手中，求祢也给我智慧和慷慨的心，愿意把它用来传扬福音、建立生命、祝福别人。
愿我不只是地上富足，
更在信上富足；
不只是拥有祝福，
更让祝福流出去。

Wealth Will Pass Away, but the Gospel Endures

“The rich should take pride in their humiliation—since they will pass away like a wild flower. For the sun rises with scorching heat and withers the plant; its blossom falls and its beauty is destroyed. In the same way, the rich will fade away even while they go about their business.”
“Has not God chosen those who are poor in the eyes of the world to be rich in faith and to inherit the kingdom he promised those who love him?”
“Your gold and silver are corroded… You have hoarded wealth in the last days.”
Devotional
In my dream, I saw a wealthy person.
He believed that money should be spent on things that are truly worthwhile, and he chose to invest it in a program that shares the Gospel.
When I woke up and read the book of James, I noticed a clear message concerning wealth:
Wealth will pass away, but how we use it reveals what we truly value.
James tells the rich to humble themselves because earthly wealth is like a flower in the field. It may look beautiful today, but when the sun rises and the scorching wind blows, it quickly withers and fades.
Possessing wealth is not the issue. The danger is treating temporary wealth as though it were our lasting security.
In James 5, there is an even stronger warning against merely storing up wealth for ourselves. Wealth that is only accumulated, but never used for meaningful purposes, will eventually lose its value.
In contrast, James 2:5 speaks of another kind of wealth:
being “rich in faith.”
This brings me back to the wealthy person in my dream.
What mattered to him was not simply what money could buy, but what money could accomplish.
When financial resources are used to share the Gospel—giving people an opportunity to hear the Good News, know Christ, and experience transformed lives—temporary wealth is being invested in something of eternal significance.
Money decreases when it is spent.
But when the Gospel enters a person’s life, its impact may continue through that person’s family, the next generation, and even many others.
True wealth, therefore, is not simply about how much we possess.
It is also about knowing:
what is worth investing in.
Today’s Reflection
James reminds me:
Grass withers. Flowers fade. Wealth passes away.
Since this is true, am I willing to use the resources God has placed in my hands for things that truly matter?
Instead of only asking:
“How much more can I accumulate?”
May I ask:
“Lord, what can what I have accomplish for You?”
Wealth will pass away,
but the fruit of the Gospel can endure.
Prayer
Lord,
Thank You for every resource You have entrusted to me.
Teach me to remain humble in times of abundance, not to place my trust in uncertain riches, and not to make the accumulation of wealth the goal of my life.
Give me heavenly perspective to discern what is temporary and what carries eternal value.
When You place resources in my hands, give me wisdom and a generous heart to use them to share the Gospel, build lives, and bless others.
May I not only be rich in earthly possessions,
but rich in faith;
not only receive blessings,
but allow those blessings to flow through me to others.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
