【启21:1–3】

“我又看见一个新天新地，因为先前的天地已经过去了，海也不再有了。

我又看见圣城新耶路撒冷由神那里从天而降，预备好了，就如新妇妆饰整齐，等候丈夫。

我听见有大声音从宝座出来说：‘看哪，神的帐幕在人间。祂要与人同住，他们要作祂的子民；神要亲自与他们同在，作他们的神。’”

灵修分享：

启示录21章描绘了神救赎计划最荣耀的结局——新天新地的降临。这不是旧世界的修补，而是神创造一个完全更新、没有罪恶、没有死亡、没有眼泪的永恒国度。

当我读到这里，不禁想到诗篇23篇。

大卫一生经历高山低谷，他宣告：“耶和华是我的牧者。”这位牧者一路供应、引导、保护，即使经过死荫的幽谷，也因神同在而毫不惧怕。

诗篇23篇最后一句说：

“我且要住在耶和华的殿中，直到永远。”（诗23:6）

启示录21:3正是这句话最完全的应验。

神不仅邀请我们进入祂的居所，更亲自住在我们中间。人与神之间再没有隔阂，没有罪的拦阻，没有死亡的威胁，只有永远的同在、永远的平安和永远的喜乐。

今天，我们仍走在地上的旅程。有时是青草地，有时是死荫幽谷，有时会经历眼泪、疾病和挑战。然而，诗篇23篇提醒我们，牧者一直陪伴；启示录21章告诉我们，牧者最终必带领我们回到永恒的家。

因此，我们的盼望不仅是今生蒙恩，更是将来永远与主同住。无论今天面对什么，都不要失去信心，因为那位领我们走过人生道路的好牧人，必亲自带我们进入祂所预备的新天新地。

亲爱的天父，感谢祢是我的好牧人，一路看顾、引导和保护我。无论今天走在青草地还是死荫幽谷，帮助我始终信靠祢，因为祢从未离开我。也求祢让我常常仰望新天新地的应许，不把盼望放在短暂的世界，而是等候那一天与祢永远同住。愿我每天忠心跟随祢，直到见祢面的日子。奉主耶稣基督的名祷告，阿们。

The Shepherd Leads Me Home — The Hope of the New Heaven and New Earth

Daily Devotion – July 26, 2026

Scripture:

Revelation 21:1–3

“Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and there was no longer any sea.

I saw the Holy City, the new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride beautifully dressed for her husband.

And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, ‘Look! God’s dwelling place is now among the people, and He will dwell with them. They will be His people, and God Himself will be with them and be their God.’”

Devotional Reflection

Revelation 21 paints the glorious climax of God’s plan of redemption—the coming of the new heaven and the new earth. This is not merely the restoration of the old creation, but a completely renewed world where sin, death, sorrow, and tears are gone forever.

As I read this passage, I cannot help but think of Psalm 23.

Throughout his life, David experienced both mountaintops and valleys, yet he boldly declared, “The Lord is my Shepherd.” This faithful Shepherd provided, guided, and protected him every step of the way. Even when David walked through the valley of the shadow of death, he feared no evil because God was with him.

The final verse of Psalm 23 says:

“And I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.” (Psalm 23:6)

Revelation 21:3 is the ultimate fulfillment of that promise.

God not only invites us into His dwelling place—He Himself comes to dwell among His people. There will no longer be any separation between God and humanity, no barrier caused by sin, and no threat of death. There will only be His everlasting presence, perfect peace, and eternal joy.

Today, we are still on our earthly journey. At times we walk through green pastures; at other times we pass through dark valleys. We may face tears, illness, and many challenges. Yet Psalm 23 reminds us that the Shepherd is always with us, and Revelation 21 assures us that one day the Shepherd will lead us safely home—to our eternal dwelling.

Therefore, our hope is not only for God’s blessings in this life, but also for the glorious day when we will dwell with Him forever. Whatever we may face today, let us not lose heart, for the Good Shepherd who faithfully leads us through life’s journey will surely bring us into the new heaven and the new earth He has prepared.

Prayer

Heavenly Father, thank You for being my Good Shepherd, faithfully watching over me, guiding me, and protecting me every step of the way. Whether I walk through green pastures or the valley of the shadow of death, help me to trust You completely, knowing that You have never left me.

Lift my eyes to the promise of the new heaven and the new earth, so that I will not place my hope in this temporary world, but eagerly await the day when I will dwell with You forever. May I remain faithful in following You each day until the day I see You face to face.

In the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, I pray. Amen.
