2026年9月12日｜灵修经文：加拉太书 2:20；6:14

有一个人，一直很努力地活着。

他努力做好人，努力守规矩，努力让自己成为神所喜悦的人。

他比别人更认真，也比别人更热心。

如果属灵生命可以靠成绩来衡量，他的成绩单应该相当漂亮。

这个人，就是保罗。

在遇见耶稣以前，他曾经非常相信一件事：

只要我做得够好，我就可以在神面前站立得住。

可是后来，他遇见了基督。

他才发现，原来自己最需要放下的，不只是那些明显的罪，甚至包括那个一直想靠自己成为义的「我」。

于是他说了一句改变生命的话：

「我已经与基督同钉十字架，现在活着的不再是我，乃是基督在我里面活着。」
——加拉太书 2:20

十字架忽然变得很个人。

不只是耶稣钉十字架，

而是——

我与祂一同钉十字架。

以前，保罗可以夸自己的背景、知识、热心和宗教表现。

可是走到《加拉太书》的最后，他却说：

「但我断不以别的夸口，只夸我们主耶稣基督的十字架。」
——加拉太书 6:14

为什么？

因为十字架把他从一个「我要证明自己的人」，变成一个「让基督在我里面活的人」。

这也是我们的故事。

我们也常常很努力。

努力做好一点，
努力属灵一点，
努力让别人肯定自己，
甚至努力让神更加喜欢自己。

有时候我们甚至会想：

「是不是我做得还不够，所以神还没有祝福我？」

但十字架把我们带回福音最简单的地方：

不是你为神做了多少，
而是基督已经为你做了什么。

保罗说：

「基督既为我们受了咒诅，就赎出我们脱离律法的咒诅。」
——加拉太书 3:13

在十字架上，耶稣担当了我们不能担当的；

祂完成了我们不能完成的。

所以我们不是靠行为换取恩典，而是先领受恩典，然后让圣灵改变我们的生命。

这就是为什么保罗又问：

「你们既靠圣灵入门，如今还靠肉身成全吗？」
——加拉太书 3:3

我们常常是靠恩典进门，却不知不觉又开始靠自己走路。

但神说：

你怎样靠圣灵开始，也要怎样靠圣灵继续。

于是，十字架之后出现了一种新的生命。

不是一个拼命修饰旧生命的人，

而是一个新造的人。

「受割礼不受割礼都无关紧要，要紧的就是作新造的人。」
——加拉太书 6:15

原来十字架不是故事的结束。

十字架，是新生命故事的开始。

有一天，当我们回头看自己走过的路，也许会发现：

以前总是在问：

「我还要为神做什么？」

后来却慢慢学会问：

「主啊，今天祢要怎样在我里面活？」

这就是从「我」到「基督」的转变。

从努力证明自己，

到安息在恩典里；

从靠肉体成全，

到靠圣灵而行；

从世界定义我的价值，

到十字架定义我的身份。

所以最后，保罗什么都不想夸了。

他只剩下一件值得夸耀的事：

十字架。

因为在那里，

基督为我死；

旧人与祂同钉；

世界失去了定义我的权力；

而一个新造的人，开始活了。

「现在活着的不再是我，乃是基督在我里面活着。」

祷告

主耶稣，谢谢祢的十字架。

我曾经那么容易靠自己努力，想证明自己、改变自己，甚至想用自己的表现换取祢的喜悦。

今天求祢再次把我带回十字架。

让我知道，我已经与基督同钉十字架。

旧的我不再作王，世界也不再定义我。

求圣灵在我里面活出基督的生命。

让我每天不再只是问：

「我能为祢做什么？」

而是说：

「主啊，愿祢今天在我里面活。」

我断不以别的夸口，

只夸我主耶稣基督的十字架。

阿们。

After the Cross, It Is No Longer I

September 12, 2026 | Scripture: Galatians 2:20; 6:14

There was a man who spent his life striving.

He tried hard to be a good person, to keep the rules, and to become someone pleasing to God.

He was more serious than most, and more zealous than many.

If spiritual life could be measured by a report card, his results would have looked impressive.

That man was Paul.

Before encountering Jesus, Paul deeply believed one thing:

If I can just be good enough, I can stand righteous before God.

But then he encountered Christ.

And he discovered that what needed to be laid down was not only his obvious sins, but even the “I” that had always tried to make itself righteous.

So he made a statement that would define his new life:

“I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me.”
— Galatians 2:20

Suddenly, the cross became deeply personal.

It was no longer only:

Christ was crucified.

It became:

I have been crucified with Him.

Paul once had many things he could boast about—his background, knowledge, zeal, and religious achievements.

Yet by the end of Galatians, he says:

“May I never boast except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ.”
— Galatians 6:14

Why?

Because the cross transformed him from someone who was always trying to prove himself into someone who allowed Christ to live through him.

And this is our story too.

We also strive.

We try to become better.
We try to become more spiritual.
We try to gain the approval of others.
Sometimes, we even try to make God love us more.

And perhaps, somewhere deep inside, we wonder:

“Maybe I haven’t done enough. Is that why God hasn’t blessed me?”

But the cross brings us back to the simplest truth of the gospel:

It is not about how much you have done for God.
It is about what Christ has already done for you.

Paul writes:

“Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us.”
— Galatians 3:13

At the cross, Jesus carried what we could never carry.

He accomplished what we could never accomplish.

Therefore, we do not earn grace through our works. We first receive grace, and then allow the Holy Spirit to transform our lives.

That is why Paul asks:

“After beginning by means of the Spirit, are you now trying to finish by means of the flesh?”
— Galatians 3:3

So often, we enter through grace but then try to continue by our own strength.

But God reminds us:

The same way you began by the Spirit is the same way you are meant to continue—by the Spirit.

And after the cross, a new kind of life begins.

Not an old life desperately trying to improve itself,

but a new creation.

“Neither circumcision nor uncircumcision means anything; what counts is the new creation.”
— Galatians 6:15

The cross, then, is not the end of the story.

The cross is where the story of new life begins.

Perhaps one day, when we look back at the journey we have walked with God, we will realize that our question has slowly changed.

We once kept asking:

“What more must I do for God?”

But eventually, we begin to ask:

“Lord, how do You want to live through me today?”

This is the transformation from “I” to “Christ.”

From striving to prove ourselves,

to resting in grace;

from trying to finish by the flesh,

to walking by the Spirit;

from allowing the world to define our worth,

to allowing the cross to define our identity.

And so, in the end, Paul had nothing else he wanted to boast about.

There was only one thing worth boasting in:

The Cross.

Because there,

Christ died for me;

my old self was crucified with Him;

the world lost its power to define me;

and a new creation began to live.

“I no longer live, but Christ lives in me.”

Prayer

Lord Jesus, thank You for the cross.

So often I have depended on my own strength—trying to prove myself, change myself, and even trying to earn Your pleasure through my performance.

Today, bring me back to the cross once again.

Help me to know that I have been crucified with Christ.

My old self no longer reigns, and the world no longer defines me.

Holy Spirit, live out the life of Christ through me.

May I no longer simply ask,

“What can I do for You?”

Instead, may my prayer be:

“Lord, live Your life through me today.”

May I never boast in anything

except the cross of my Lord Jesus Christ.
